Satyr x Swordsman Rough Pages 1-4
Added 2025-04-23 00:03:17 +0000 UTCI can tell I'm still learning how to draw the characters and orient dialog on these pages but in the spirit of showing my work, not just my finished product I'm dropping these before I'm ready.π«£
In the past I've always adopted a "fix it in post" philosophy when it comes to making comics. I don't count things as done until they're totally done and I can come back around and change things if I've figured out how to make it better down the line. It really helps squash the perfectionism as I'm working. Showing the imperfect when I still don't know what I'm doing is a bit scarier still π But I'm confident I'll figure it out before we go to print, or at least that's usually what happens. :)
Technically I've got a couple more pages thumbnailed but not yet roughed. In my head I've been calling this project Double Feature (see thumbnails) because I'm enlisting the help of a friend to draw another story to accompany this one :)
I unfortunately changed the layouts pretty dramatically from the thumbnails in some places because I feel like I should try to condense things a little bit. I rewrote the dialog several times too just because I felt like it was wrong. I'm not really sure what "right" is exactly, I only know what it isn't.
The need to condense things isn't because I think the story will end up dragging so much as I think I now have the problem of letting things get too long sometimes π
