January Report

✅Libby & Holly Ch3 100% Finished

⏹️CYOA Pt 17

The start of the year is always challenging for me, historically. Lingering past expectations and new creative aspirations can really weigh down the process of turning over a new leaf. Last year I even paused the patreon for January because I was very burnt out. This January was a mix.

I fed my Princess Peach brainrot monster by indulging in fanart based on my newfound love of Paper Mario Thousand Year Door. It was a perfect escape.

Bubblegum colors and soft curves are kinda just what I needed. I have a not-so-secret plan to put it all together into a printed Peaches zine to put in the shop, but first I need to get Libby & Holly Ch3 completed.

My sketchbook posts for gold patrons this month was largely dominated by Princess Peach.

Although I did get some miscellaneous sketches in there, I was pretty fixated on exploring as many different Peachy dimensions as are available to my imagination.

Once I get a little more polish on some of these Peaches I'm going to share them as proper posts :)

✅Libby & Holly Ch3 100% Finished is the only truly complete goal for the month. I’ve FINALLY gotten the cover art finished.

Working on a comic for longer than I expected seems to result in working on the cover for longer than I expected also. Scope creep had its way with me, but I just couldn't resist making an alt version...

Getting all the pages colored took a decent amount of time too, even with a lot of help from Kitt🐰 but I think we have a good system going for future comics now 😤

I need to reset my expectations a bit going forward when it comes to comic art. I’m always proud of the work we produce together, but I have been feeling like I need to embrace a new punk rock working method that allows me to be less perfectionist.

⏹️Physical comics will be in the Coming in Handy Store starting with the Libby & Holly books starting on the 14th💝, which is when I’m planning on launching the the comic for digital purchase on itchio also.

Obviously it’s here for you to read right now as it is, but that PDF version will have some extra art/sketch pages I’m putting together of stuff I made along the way and fixing all the mistakes whoooopssieieieieiieieeiie!

⏹️The CYOA Pt 17 update should be able to return in February, I really just wanted to finally get Libby out the door before getting into something else. If I hadn’t had Kitt🐰 to help me stay on task I might have been completely consumed by Peaches 😅

February Goals💝:

This is kind of a short list again as I try to clear out leftover tasks from 2024 so that my runway is clear. There will definitely be sketches and art that happen around these goals but these are the main quantifiable things I want to tackle this month.

Feeling powerless in the face of world events reaffirms my 2025 goal to work more with other creators. I think working on smaller, faster projects might make that more feasible too. Smaller projects could be both easier for me and simpler to get other people involved in because they don't require as much long term commitment.
