CYOA:The Orc and the Tower Pt 16
Added 2024-11-04 00:42:43 +0000 UTCThe scent of the blossoms around you seems suddenly stronger, as if you’ve finally been saturated in the aroma. It makes you feel simultaneously lighter and heavier, like slipping into a pool of warm oil. You idly wonder if the garden sprites seem larger than before.
One of the friendlier sprites gives you a gift of sweet nectar to drink, it tastes of sun-ripened melonfruit from the Engorgian fields.
You hear the goblin, from what feels like a great distance away, declaring that the nectar tastes of your loincloth. You have only a moment to ponder that before your senses are overwhelmed by a rushing, pleasant warmth that fills your chest and then rapidly expands.
You find yourself on the ground, shrunken to near the stature of the garden sprites and quickly look for the members of your party, finding the goblin leaning against one of the bells stolen from the treasure vault.
The nectar of the garden sprites, strong as any wizard’s potion has given her strength rivaling the iron vines of the demonplant from which your loincloth was crafted.
Paier, unable to drink any of the sprite’s nectar, remains unchanged except to match your diminished stature. This strange room seems to have affected your clothing in odd ways as well.
Unhappily, your spoils from the vault remain at their proper size and are too large to carry, save for the goblin’s wand, which she wields easily as a staff in spite of its heft. The three of you collect your wits, and open the door.
Just inside the doorway, a dim staircase leads further up into the tower, through the darkness, faint noises echo down from above.
