CYOA:The Orc and the Tower Pt.14

You stride purposefully into the gardens.

As you begin walking along the gently winding path, you become aware of a quiet buzz of activity all around you, both natural and magical.

A short way into your stroll, the garden path is overrun with a blanket of small flowers.

As your footsteps disturb the flowers, a small cloud of pollen rises up about your ankles. A subtle feeling of languorous pleasure begins to overtake you and you notice the other members of the party stiffen slightly and then begin to relax as well.

Despite your continued progress, the exit appears to grow more distant somehow.

Paier, quickening her pace toward the door, releases a larger cloud of sweet aroma from the carpet of blossoms. You see her first begin to stoop and then finally to crawl toward the door, her breath shortening into moaning gasps of confusion and frustration.

As you catch up with Paier, it becomes clear that the door wasn't moving further away, but instead had been steadily shrinking as you approached until it was scarcely larger than the front door to a gnome’s hovel.

“What? How can–thisss is a foul trick– the wizard hasss enchanted the door! There must be something nearby– there’s alwayssss…sssomething…”

Paier endeavors to frantically search the surrounding area, but it lasts only a few moments before, sluggishly stumbling into an embankment of flowers, she lies down. Sluggishly, she rolls around in them, obviously enjoying herself immensely.

The cloud of warm, sweet air rising up from the flowers makes your limbs feel still more sluggish and relaxed.

You turn to the goblin, who gazes back with a slightly vacant smile beside you. She too, is feeling the effect of the flowers’ scent, though neither of you as strongly as Paier, who has fallen under the spell utterly. The goblin suggests that you should both look for a remedy to the situation.
