In preparation for the show I've been taking some older works that were fine, and revisiting them to kinda embellish or complicate them. This piece is a fancied up version of a drawing I made in 2020. I think it might need more complicating still, but we'll see.

I like how adding the cane begonia kinda adds even more shapes and lines that are kinda doting on the fellatio recipient. I also like how they have kinda cheeky pink undersides, like the plant it showing it's bare butt too. This is just where my brain is this week. I've been sexualizing plants thanks to all of you ;)

ART TALK:

There's a weird little distinction in my brain about making art for a gallery vs. making illustration. I need a lot of restrictions to react to in order to happily make my work, it's just how I'm wired. It makes just "making art" in the general sense a massive challenge for me.

Ever since Fitting for a Lady I've enjoyed indulging in mark-making. Lines to me really do a wonderful job of describing what it's like to touch something. Every line can be the impress of a fingertip if you were to touch a person or object. Lots of lines slow your fingers down, they're ridged bumps of fabric folded tightly or the soft prickliness of a closely shaven haircut.

This is probably a little high-minded for what I'm doing but part of what I enjoy in making this work is getting to take silly things very seriously. I take depicting pleasure seriously because I want to be able to describe it in a way that someone else can empathize with physically and not just enjoy a visual spectacle.

In essence I hope that if I make my drawings well, one will be able to imagine what it feels like to put one's bare ass on a sofa, or notice the difference or similarities between the texture of skin and a cane begonia's leaves or flower petals.

Thinking too hard about things can definitely be a burden at times. I have to remind myself some times that I can't out-think the piece I'm trying to make and solve it before I try to make it. Oftentimes I find I have to draw something just to see how it's not working and then course correct.

It is a silly little detail, I'm glad you like it :)

Thank you Futo!!! 💕 :OOO

I love the socked foot on the giver's shoulder. It's such an odd little detail and it's just a part of what makes it special.

Same. I kinda have a hard time understanding this sort of talk, I could never bring myself to think that way. But this comes from someone that has been practicing for way less time than Wint has, so I guess it makes sense. What I can say though is that I also take things quite seriously, which often slows me down in my own art process, and it’s exhausting/frustrating. Love the piece btw!

Such a great color palette, super awesome. :O

I'm glad you enjoy it Ty! I don't know if all of this thinking always translates into something that someone else might easily notice in a tangible way, but thinking in this way gives me more ideas for experiments and kinda gives me more structure in choosing what to try next!

Thank you Jordan, that means a lot to me ♥️🥂

Your art, no matter the scenario or character, always feels very tangible and that’s why I love it. It’s fantastical but grounded. I don’t think you take anything too seriously, you just treat it with respect, and that’s why you will have my $5 a month for a long time 🥂

No I love hearing about that sort of stuff! It's way past how I ever think about art so it feels really new and helpful.
