Good Afternoon Folks!
It’s been awhile since I’ve made a big text update. Looking through my posts here the last major text update I did was in November 2024.
Oof, a lot has happened since then.
If you haven’t been following my adventures on discord or social media, I’ll give you the TL:DR which hopefully explains why things have been slow.
WHAT HAS HAPPENED, AND CURRENT STATE OF THINGS:
The job hunt, which was happening for months since November, has had mixed results. Many many interviews and callbacks, some stopgap gigs (worked in television for a little bit even!), but finally landed a gig in my industry that pays a fair salary. The downside is the commute IS time consuming, which means less time for art.
Started learning how to grow my own food and began building the infrastructure for a small homestead on my property. In addition to things like healthy cooking and baking. This has been a huge learning experience which has been helping me mentally and to prepare for the future.
Joined multiple con staff organizations to help out with local furry cons in addition to continuing to volunteer for local LGBT orgs which has been helping me reconnect with the community here, since December this has been a major boon for social health and community.
I decided to discontinue use of antidepressants I’ve been on since 2017. The withdrawal has been difficult and I’ve kept a lot of it to myself. Mentally and physically adjusting to changes has been hard, but I hope I’m on the upswing as life progresses. If I’ve seemed out of sorts, this and stress is your answer.
I’ve been up to a LOT since the last update. And things aren’t going to slow down for me any time soon as I continue to readjust to a new life. I’ve been doing my best juggling commissions in between all this, and I’m still trying to find a balance. I am forever grateful for everyone’s patience as I get myself back on my feet.
THE FUTURE and what’s coming up:
In addition to all this, in less than a week I will have someone very special moving in with me. They have been one of my best friends and have been with me through a lot since 2020. I’m hoping with their help around the house and homestead as well as any endeavors they want to collaborate on will be beneficial for everyone!
Grad school is starting again and I have changed majors and institutions. Once again going with a local university for grad school. Cheaper and should hopefully be less stressful with the study change as well.
Still laying down the groundwork for expanding the Atomheart Brand™️ and anticipating launching a personal website in addition to merch by the year’s end or Q1 2026. This got very delayed I know, but I’m giving myself more time with all these life events.
Since steady state in mid 2024 I’ve been roughed up, my savings drained, my resolve tested, kicked while I was down more times to count, expensive repairs I couldn’t afford, constant battling with state aid so I could afford to live, in addition to our government attempting to make every other aspect of life difficult it’s been a constant stream of stress. I appreciate everyone for sticking with me and for understanding my circumstances.
I know none of this is ideal for everyone. My goal is after August/event season is over I will be able to back back into a steady state again and begin producing more work. Commissions and otherwise. My goal is to have a more public queue as well. For the moment I am glad you guys like what I find the time and energy to make until things settle.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your support and patronage. Better things are on the horizon, and I thank you all for being with me through this journey 💙💜💚🧡
