What is not to like about this film???? The opening shots of Butch in the bank really blew me away! I am going to keep this one short because lately I’ve been loving keep y’all on your toes LOL!

I absolutely love this film. This is a Newman and Redford show all the way. It's a shame they didn't make more films together, but I understand the pressure to match the ones they did. Katharine Ross is great and Etta is such a wonderful character. Burt Bacharach is the man and at first you might think that what is with this score, but it fits the film perfectly. One of my favorite parts is the chase sequence. Butch: I couldn't do that. Could you do that? Why can they do it? Who are those guys? Such great banter throughout the film. Loved you're reaction Ames.

2025-02-23 05:40:23 +0000 UTCWhat a delight to see this film again and your first time reaction, Ames!! ***** SPOILERS BELOW ***** Newman and Redford had such terrific chemistry and were perfect complements to one another! Butch with his bright ideas and Sundance with his brooding skepticism. I was also fooled by that first scene with Sundance and Etta my first time watching! Role play anyone? The lighting in that scene was absolutely amazing!! Etta had such a sweet and critical role in the film and there was so much love between the three of them! Etta would have definitely been "involved" with Butch if she had met him first! Another favorite moment in the film for me was when Butch used perhaps a bit too much dynamite on Woodcock's new safe! That was hilarious! 😂 Favorite Quote: Butch: What's the matter with you? Sundance: I can't swim! Butch: [laughs] ... Are you crazy? The fall will probably kill ya. I'm glad you finally got a chance to watch this one, Ames! It was definitely worth the wait!!
