With that out of the way, onto the big news! Holy mother of cookies, guys, gals, and others! This was close. As in, so close that I actually forced myself to do a recount (two of them), to make sure I'd gotten it right. As for why I made absolutely sure? Well...

A Very Confused Pokémon Adventure - 96.5(+28.95 from boost) = 125.45
One Piece: Halfway Broken - 123.5
Harry Potter: Pandora's Box - 61(+30.5 from Boost) = 91.5
Mass Effect: Eridium Dreams - 41(+32.8 from Boost) = 73.8

...One Piece: Halfway Broken actually lost. By less than 2 points. Mind you, it would have won without the boosts in play (though even then Pokémon Adventure performed incredibly well). But lose it did! Finally.
Now, if you're a Halfway Broken fan Don't Panic.
Still with me? Good (hopefully). This honestly couldn't have happened in a better poll if I'd deliberately planned it (I didn't). I announced in the very same poll that I intend to do a Christmas Bonus in December, with that bonus coming in the form of an 8-10k update to the runner up of this poll. That means that, despite its loss, Halfway Broken is going to get an update in December. It won't be the full 15k treatment that the Poll Winner gets. But it will still be a decently sized update! Possibly enough to even get the crew through the original island that they are currently on.
Meanwhile, we have proof that the Boost System actually does work! It means we'll get a nice 15k chunk of our new champion, A Very Confused Pokémon Adventure. Which, honestly, also couldn't have been better timed if I'd tried, as 2B is about start on her actual Journey. That means I have a nice healthy word count to get her story rolling properly with. Whether or not that can help it reach a competitive point in January, when it won't have the Boost any longer, remains to be seen. Though, given it came second even without the boost, I dare say it has at least a chance of remaining competitive with Halfway Broken!
An exciting month ahead of us, folks! I hope you're all looking forward to it!

I'm not sure if it was actually in the Dec/Jan poll, I think that may have been when it was introduced and didn't need a poll. And yes, I'm quite pleased to be able to get a 15k release for Pokemon Adventure, as that will at least bring it up to the same rough size as Pandroa's Box and Eridium Dreams. Not to mention giving people a better feel for how the story will progress now that the early timeskips are past!

Happy that you can finally sink in that 15K that you've been wanting to put into this particular story Novus! I love HB too but your other stories do deserve to win and get some love as well. Glad that HB was finally dethroned (after how many polls? I lost count honestly) and that your new system works so well! Looking forward to December and what you plan on releasing!
