Right! So, this nearly 11,000 word release is the positive result of me taking that small time out earlier in the month to get my outline for this story's future more properly fleshed out! I knew where I wanted to go, and some points I wanted to hit along the way, but I needed to get some more detailed thought put into how to get from Point A to Point B without getting lost in Points C-Q in the process.
I now have things far better mapped out, with an extremely solid plan in place for the next few updates at the very least. Which should get us through the primary 'invasion' arc. The invasion isn't just going to magically go away. This isn't an animated DC cartoon episode where the 'we don't kill' heroes suddenly figure out the enemy weakness and brutally genocide the entire invading race, after all!
But, past a certain point, the invasion will be more 'under control' and the UA students will actually return to UA eventually, where they'll switch targets to dealing with all the things the villains have been up to while the invasion ate up all their attention. I even have some content for after that mapped out, based on some changes UA and the world as a whole are going to make in reaction to needing to manage both an extra dimensional invasion and regular villainy.
That's for later, though. For now, we have a few chapters with (I think), a decent mix of exposition, action, and fluff! Yes, fluff! No lemony goodness just yet, but progress along the path to acquiring Infinite Jirou Headpats!
As usual, the new bits of story are attached to this post in various formats! And I'll be updating the Pinned Post with new master files shortly. Enjoy!

I fixed these typos. But since there's a newer release, I just went ahead and fixed them in the master file only to prevent having to fix them thrice over. That way they'll just propagate into the chapters with the next release. I already replaced the most recent master file with the corrections, though. Thanks :-).

2024-09-16 01:47:20 +0000 UTCGood question! For the most part, it hasn't affected most Quirk users yet, since the Empire hasn't managed to siphon even a fraction of the ambient QE. Remember, I also explained that the difference between older generation Quirks and newer generation is that more recent generation humans have evolved to Generate QE instead of just absorb what is already in the ambient environment. With a few billion civilians pumping out QE all the time, Earth's QE field is technically slowly getting stronger, even with the energy lost to the Empire's draining. It DOES affect older Quirk users when the siphons to shut down a Rift/Lesser Gate are running full bore. Older heroes and heroines will/are suffering from Quik Exhaustion more easily/faster. But the overall effect has been relatively minor, since Heroics is largely a profession for the young, meaning the majority of current Heroes and Heroines have their own energy generation. They are still losing out on some ambient absorption, but they don't need it as much, and what little they are losing out on is made up for by the fact they are spending so much time in areas of high-density QE. That's where Rifts form, after all.

2024-09-16 01:45:35 +0000 UTCI remember earlier in the story that the whole point of the war was to get more QE from earth because the empire has less in the ambient atmosphere, I also remember you explaining how quirks take the QE energy and fill an internal reserve(?) that’s converted to their QE signature, how does the reduced QE energy affect quirk power levels and combat stamina?
