Can One Displaced Hero Save the Galaxy? (48-51)

Whew! Last update of the month, as far as stories go, at least. I'll put the poll results up in a day or two. As you can see, I'm still running about four days behind. In this case, the simple truth is that it took that long to write the story. I had to do quite a lot of reading/research on Felucia and Tython in order to write these chapters. Then I had to adjust things a bit here and there to make all the pieces fit together. There will be a fair few author's notes in the comments as a result. Though you don't actually NEED to read them. They are just clarifying bits and bobs of what is and isn't from actual Star Wars media as such.

Anyway, the release is nearly 16,000 words, and it gets us through the end of their little lightsaber crystal seeking quests. Next time, we'll likely be back to their empire building with just a few asides. So hopefully these last two updates have been a nice break from that. As always, the new bits of story are uploaded here in various formats, and I'll update the pinned post shortly. I'll also, as implied above, be making a series of author's notes in the comments in a bit. Enjoy the update!

Note: The attached image is AI generated, and not by me. I wanted to use a different image and didn't have time to fiddle with the AI generation myself, so I found an AI generated image on the web. It fits the set of chapters reasonably well...even if Aayla in my story has been suckered into wearing armor at this point ;-).

Such good stuff. Glad to see more Bastilla, Shan's are fun😁 Also yeeessss, sexy space cat girls!!!😍

Actually, they do have eyebrows...mostly because costume designers are lazy and keep leaving eyebrows on actors and actresses in everything live action. If you look up both Aayla's limited screen time in the movies, and then do the same with Oola (the original Twi'lek dancer in ROTJ) both have eyebrows. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but they've kept to it with most animations of Twi'leks as well to stay consistent.

I think they meant the fact she HAS eyebrows. Thought that twilek didn't have hair, so thus would not have eyebrows. That would also extend to the eyelashes too. Which I had never actually thought about before- hairless races without eyelashes, would they have fleshy tendrils at edge of eyelids? Or maybe nictating membranes (spelling? The "inner eyelids" some species have).

There's almost always something wrong with AI images :-p. That's why they are easy to spot, most of the time. There are at least a few subtle things off with this one. The eyebrows aren't quite in the right place, the area where he Lekku meet her head is being treated more like cloth than skin, and she's holding that lightsaber way too close to the blade. Just to name three! But it was decent and, as I said at the end of the post, I didn't have time to fiddle with the AI generator myself.

Thanks for another great read! Looking forward to seeing what happens next! Can't wait to read more of this great story!

There’s something strange about the A.I image, I’m pretty sure it’s the eyebrows, could be the eyes or the blushes but my money is on the eyebrows

Happy Birthday!

Yep, always simple stuff that trips you up. If it LOOKS right, it's easy to just skim right over it when proofreading.

Novus Peregrine

A nice birthday gift thank you

It’s all good it happens all the time when I write too. I’ll be writing an essay on the Roman’s and switch up the eras or when this person was around but I mixed them up with a descendant.

Because I'm my own proofreader and this is the first release that contains her name? Thanks for pointing it out :-p. It'll get fixed when I have time. Correction: Last release was, but no one mentioned it, so I couldn't fix it...

Chapter 51: A/N 1: So, Tamor is NOT a Star Wars world. Instead, I cheated like a bitch and based it (which may not ever appear again) off Tamaran from DC (Where Starfire and Blackfire are from). It's not a one-for-one comparison, obviously. I created the limitation on their travel mostly to explain why such a 'powerful' species wasn't known much to the rest of the galaxy. I always did find it amusing/interesting that the logic the artists/writers that worked with Starfire used to explain her not really having a nudity taboo actually made sense. If you absorb solar energy for power, and are basically immune to heat/cold/day-to-day damage...why would you wear much in the way of clothes? It would only get in the way of charging up easier. Anyway, minor semi-cameo is minor. A/N 2: Yes, I am cruel and didn't actually include a lemon of their first time with Mei. Frankly, for some reason, it just didn't feel like it fit here? I might show it as a flashback or something? Maybe even as just a random extra I throw in at some point? I also wanted to note that I did consider going with a more romantic approach and slowly easing Mei into the relationship...until I realized that doing so very much just doesn't fit Mei's personality. So, blunt wrecking ball method instead, after a suitable bit of leadup in the last few releases!

Chapter 50: A/N 1: Before anything else, let me just say that the lore on Tython is a MESS. There are a lot of places where things just don't line up right, or at all, and a lot of unknowns too. Like the fact that 'some disaster' bombarded the planet with dark side energy at one point. But the disaster is never explained anywhere, nor is a timeline for that given. I spent WAY too much time trying to piece together something cohesive for Tython. Ugh. A/N 2: So, I didn't realize it at the time I wrote the Dathomir section, but the Kwa apparently destroyed the Infinity Gate on Tython? The problem with that is that detail is contradicted elsewhere that listed it as their biggest gate and that he had been buried/sealed. I decided to split the difference to try and line the bits up, by saying they destroyed the Star Temple complex to deny the gate to the Rakata. But that they hadn't been able/willing to destroy the pocket dimension with the actual Infinity Gate itself in it. A/N 3: The technobeasts are Legends EU, a Sith built a fortress on Tython during the New Sith Wars and created them. A techno virus mixed with Sithspawn. Darth Bane and Darth Zannah visited at once point after the fortress was defunct and wiped out a lot of them...but the virus replicates by infecting more organic hosts. So I figured if they missed even one, they've likely repopulated given the better part of a thousand years. For the curious, the hosts they are infecting are Flesh Raiders, seen on Tython in The Old Republic MMO. A/N 4: Likewise, the location they found the holocrons at was The Masters Retreat. Basically where the Jedi Masters that taught at the Temple lived during that time period. Satele Shan was the Grandmaster during most of The Old Republic MMO as well. Frankly, I used what I remember or could find videos of from that MMO as the guide for much of Tython... A/N 5: The Mantle of the Force is from KoTOR, though. It can be found at the same location as the Heart of the Guardian. Someone over on ScribbleHub actually called it showing up at some point after I first included Heart of the Guardian :-p.

Chapter 49: The bits about Felucia HERE, however, are a mix mash of EU and original to me. The giant Sarlacc being present there is from the video game Force Unleashed, which I also took cues from with it's interior, as there is in fact a level where you transit through its lungs (ew). The idea of it being a Guardian for a Star Temple, however, is entirely my own concept. I think it fits rather well, though!

Chapter 48: Interestingly enough, Hosk Station exists in both Canon AND the EU. Though there's a lot more detail on it in Legends content that I ran with here. In the EU it was built by the Alderaan Royal Engineers and covered the surface of the entire moon it was built on. As a major trade hub in generally the right region of space, I figured it was a good location to use for what I wanted with this chapter. The bits about Felucia in this chapter are actually outright canon, as is the fact that at least one proponent (Qui-Gon Jinn) of the Living Force went there for trials.

I gotta ask why do you keep using shimi for shmi skywalker’s name? I even double checked the phantom menace credits and it’s shmi.
