One Piece - Halfway Broken 36-39
Added 2024-08-12 13:50:52 +0000 UTCWhew. Sorry this is, like My Hero Automata, later than usual folks. It's really just a follow-on effect from the delay with Automata, honestly. I caught up slightly, but only by about a day. I'd hoped to make that two by getting this out yesterday, but I just didn't quite managed to get the editing pass done in time.
Anyway! It's ready now. I'm afraid this set of chapters is very much a transition between arcs, which means very little action. Though we do get to see the way things with Robin and Hina play out, along with some more divergences from canon building up. It's also a little bit shorter than normal, coming in at around 13,700 words instead of the usual 15,000. That actually didn't have anything to do with the delay. It was just where there was a logical place to end things.
I also don't feel too bad about it ;-). But the reason for that is that I've got a slight surprise for everyone that will come out alongside the Poll. Said surprise will, I hope, make up for the slightly shorter Halfway Broken entry!
As always, the new content for the story is attached here in various formats. And I'll be updating the Pinned Post with the new master files shortly.

Ace left Alabasta earlier than he did in canon, since Luffy arrived earlier and Ace was hanging around for a bit to see if he could catch up with Luffy. Since we know that Blackbeard would be on Jaya for Luffy to run into...I figured leaving at a different time had a very real chance of sending Ace down the right route to catch up with Teach!

2024-08-12 15:49:47 +0000 UTC*blink* I'm not sure why? Once a month is the normal update schedule for Poll Winner stories. Four total updates a month. Two for My Hero Automata (roughly 15k words total), one for the Poll Winner (Halfway Broken in this case), one for Can One Displaced Hero Save a Galaxy. That's my official update cycle and I'm pretty good about keeping to it, with a few days of drift now and then when things get busy with life. I've yet to ever fail to get all four out within a month period though, ever.
