Can One Displaced Hero Save the Galaxy? (9-11)

Alright! Time for the next release of the month...and this one is considerably larger than originally intended ;-). As in, it's the better part of 9,000 words. Just shy of 8,700 in point of fact. Hopefully, that comes as a nice surprise! This story honestly still has the strongest hold on my muse, so I'm not too shocked it ran away on me. Don't expect it to always happen though :-). Also, for the men and women of culture (*cough* perverts like me *cough*), this one does contain a new lemon. As always, the lemon is clearly marked so those that aren't interested can skip it.

New chapters are attached to the post in both PDF and Epub formats, as usual. And I will be updating the master file in the pinned post shortly.

Can One Displaced Hero Save the Galaxy? (9-11)

Yep, I have a plan for how to handle it while acknowledging the point that there is a certain danger in emotions. Though it will be a bit before we get there. A start on that part of things won't happen until after the Nar Shadda trip teased in the current poll. But I do have a plan for it :-).

Yeah, that's a far stance. Like, I get the reason why they're weary of attachment; I mean, "guy goes postal after (insert object of affection here) gets (inset tragedy here)" is a common trope for a reason. That said, I'm also glad you're planning on giving them that newspaper wack.

Ha! I think every fan of Star Wars has come up with their own version of that argument, at least in their head ;-). Though some take it to the extreme by getting stuck in a sort of feedback loop of fan opinions. The Jedi were never intended to be completely unfeeling, not even in the original canon by Lucas. Attachment was forbidden, but enjoying the moment was not. Humorously, it's actually completely canon that Jedi could have one-night-stands...they just couldn't get romantically ATTACHED to someone. If Anakin had just been more of a pervert and settled for being friends with benefits with Padme AND all her handmaidens on a rotating basis, he'd probably have been issued his MasterCard after all... Don't think I'm defending them, though (Or that the Friends with Benefits is the solution I'm embracing, it is NOT, just to be clear.). The Jedi are going to get a firm newspaper whack to the nose in this fic, sooner or later. I'm going to be gentler with them than some of the more extreme fanfic authors can be, treating them more like they've lost their way a bit, rather than an object of contempt to be hated. But it's entirely possible that the actions I have planned out may cause a bit of a schism in the Jedi Order. Depending on how it all works out. I have a very solid general outline up through the opening round of the Clone Wars, with the balance of the galaxy by that point differing significantly from canon. But exact details of how it will all unfold past that point are only generally sketched out. I don't want to lock myself in and not have room for anything clever that I come up with between now and then ;-).

Is it wrong that I want to see him pop off on yoda about how stupid it is that they force kids to basically abandon everything about life that makes it worth living? Like even budists say that love is an essential path to enlightenment.

Currently, it's 31 BBY (Before Battle of Yavin, which for some very complicated reasons is the dating system the Star Wars community decided on). The events of The Phantom Menace occurred in 32 BBY. Which means the invasion of Naboo, Anakin being taken for training, and so on, have all happened but are fairly recent. The Clone Wars (and thus Episode 2 and the Battle of Geonosis) don't happen until 22 BBY. So, essentially, we're between Episodes 1 and 2, with roughly 9 years to go before the canon start date of The Clone Wars. How much Izuku's presence will influence the start date for the Clone Wars remains to be seen... Also, glad you're liking it so far ;-). This story is perhaps my single most ambitious, so it has a long long way to go, in that Galaxy Far Far away!

I really love the direction you're taking this series, I'm not 100% sure where it's set in the timeline. Is it pre-clonewars? I'm less familiar with the wider Starwars canon.

Glad you enjoyed it!
