My Hero Automata (Chapters 25&26)

Alright! Time for the first release of October! This one is slightly smaller than the last couple of My Hero Automata releases (though it's still 4,800+ words), mostly because these two chapters are a transition. We're moving out of the Tournament Arc and into the Internships Arc, but won't get to the actual internships starting until the next chunk of this later in the month. On that note, it should be clear who I'm leaning towards for Izumi to intern with, but if someone has a convincing enough argument, they are welcome to try and change my mind. Momo is locked in, for all the reasons that chapter 26 will go into, but for Izumi I might be convinced on someone else, with a good enough argument.

As always, the new chapters are attached in in PDF and EPub formats. And I will be updating the Master Files in the pinned post shortly.

Spoiler 1: I know I'll probably get some flak for one thing that happens in Chapter 26, or at least is revealed there. My reasoning will be added as a comment to this post to make it less likely to spoil the chapter for people.

Spoiler 2: Very much more a minor thing. If you want an idea what Momo's 'bikini armor' version from her new gear will end up looking like. Look up the Witchblade Anime (a decent fanart example would be this one). It won't be something she uses often, but it will make an appearance at least once in a future arc. Probably, the will be other occasions as well.

Oooooooo I can’t wait!!!!

That's sort of the logic I followed in pushing her toward Ryukyu so far. Though, obviously without the OC element (I try to minimize the number of OCs as much as possible). Ryukyu is at least in the same general weight class as Izumi, while also being someone who's seen in canon as actively nurturing her various interns/work study students. While being extremely humble/level headed. Since we actually don't know a lot about her, I can make a verrrryy slight change to her Quirk (which might not even be a change, we simply don't know much about it) that will give her quite a bit to teach Izumi on that side of things. While also having the right personality to teach her non-combat bits of heroics. Izumi is already a top-tier combatant, but that doesn't mean she know how to do things like handle the public or deal with the politics of being a hero. Things that a high-ranked hero can help her with. Also, Nejire is a chaotic existence and introducing her to Izumi and Momo, who are both different kinda of chaotic, could be awesome ;-). Though poor Izumi might find her a bit overwhelming at first...

I’m not sure who Izumi would do bast with. I believe she is already stronger than most pros we know, so I think she should be mentoring with a pro to help here with something else. Probably an OC, someone like Master Sinube from ‘The Clone Wars’. I think she needs someone to teach her patience more than anything. Just my opinion though do what you think is best👍

Apparently, the first comment didn't take. So, WARNING SPOILER COMNENT. .... .... .... .... .... .... .... .... Okay, if you're still here, I'm assuming you want an explanation for the Shoto thing. I salvaged Katsuki, so why not him, right? Do I hate the character? Nope. Actually, Shoto is one of my favorite characters in MHA, since he's basically the only one in the series that shows actual emotional growth. No, unfortunately, he's a victim of three things: 1) This isn't a fix-it fic. I'm not trying to make sure every bad thing from canon doesn't happen. 2) This UA is a university dealing with people who are technically adults. Even if just barely. They do not treat their students with kid gloves. They are not willing to risk making emotionally unstable heroes. They DID try to help him before kicking him out. But... 3) No matter how I looked at it, there's no way the additional three years of age would have helped Todoroki. There were no major changes to his situation. Katsuki lost his safe target and got hammered for his delinquent behavior when he targeted people that weren't willing to ignore it. Shoto, on the other hand, was stuck in an environment where no one COULD help him, under Endeavor's thumb. If no one helped him in the 15 years of canon...than another 3 weren't going to do anything but bake the problem in more. Shoto is MORE emotionally damaged than in canon, not less. And he reacted badly to UA's attempts to help him. What happens to him now is a bit up in the air...but he won't be becoming a hero in any traditional way. He's been blacklisted for psychiatric instability. Which, to be fair, might well have happened in canon without Izuku's shonen protagonist friendship punch.
