Thus, Viridi left, taking responsibility upon herself and putting an end to her relationship with Altumar. Choosing someone else’s path and following it out of inner fear or pity is a dead-end for either side. And she understands this, unlike Altumar, who is only beginning to grasp the full weight of the situation.
He can be understood too: Altumar’s longing for the surface and another world began in his distant childhood, much earlier than Viridi’s. Yet this doesn’t diminish her value or Altumar’s love for the green wyvern. Sometimes, we simply have to act as we must.-----------------
