"Final Exam" Game Development Story

Following a recent tradition, I am publishing the new post in the middle of the week about the development of the game Final Exam.

So, the most difficult part of development is complete! All locations have been built, and all objects and enemies have been placed in them! If it weren't for the free version of Construct 3, which is used to make the game, I could now build a playable working prototype. However, as I said earlier, I will buy the paid version of the engine before release. It is very problematic that the full version of Construct 3 is only available on a subscription basis (monthly or yearly).

What's next in the plan? Initially, after creating all the locations, I planned to create bosses. However, the future publisher suggests moving on to creating in-game images and releasing a cut-down version of the game (without bosses) on specialized Japanese platforms.

I like this idea, so I've adjusted my plans a bit. We still plan to release the game on Steam, and there will be the full version of the game with all the bosses (maybe with extra levels and images if I have enough energy and time). But I will move on to creating bosses and other possible additional content after the game is released on Japanese platforms. And starting tomorrow, I will begin creating in-game images.

I have 65 images to make. This is an approximate preliminary calculation, as I don't know exactly how many images there will be in the prelude and ending. Perhaps there will be slightly fewer images in the final version. Nevertheless, this is still a large number, and I really don't want to drag out the creation of all the images for too long. In this regard, I think my next decision is the right one. I am temporarily suspending the creation of images based on requests. Tentatively, requests will be available again in early August... I hope this will be enough time for me to create all the necessary in-game images...

But please don't think that I will stop publishing content! New images will continue to be published every weekday (barring any unforeseen circumstances). In-game images will depict the same stories and actions as the requested images. Simply, now the images will feature characters related to the game Final Exam. That is, in essence, nothing will change! Moreover, I will still create images with characters based on anime heroines from time to time. But the main focus will still be on in-game images... I think this direction will be the right one.

So, the creation of the game Final Exam is already in the home stretch! There is not long to go until the release! Yes, I will repeat that the game does not look as it was originally planned. Many mechanics had to be removed to speed up development... But this is only the very first project! I will definitely implement everything that I was unable to implement in future projects!
