"Final Exam" game devlog

Hi!

This is a mid-week devlog post.

I'm continuing to add enemy characters to the final, fifth level of the lite version of the game “Final Exam”... Judging from initial testing, the level is turning out to be a bit hardcore... Yes, I know that most of those, who have played the demo and working build of the previous version, want the game to be easier. I will definitely take players' opinions into consideration, and try to make the game's difficulty as low as possible!

Sorry, I'm hampered by the fact that I, as a kid, was a hardcore gamer. I played a large number of platformers of varying difficulty on my 16-bit Sega Megadrive. The game "Final Exam" I'm making is inspired by my childhood memories and gaming experiences. To be honest, even the previous version of the game seemed too easy to me, and I, subconsciously, wanted to add more difficulty... But my favorite 16-bit games are in the past, and modern life dictates other trends that I have to adjust to.

I think, if the light version of the game will have at least average success, I will realize, in the future, the version that was originally conceived. Perhaps I'll change the graphical elements of the game... Those who have been reading me for a long time, remember that, once upon a time, I created the characters of the game in another style, more similar to real people. Unfortunately, it takes a lot of time to create such characters, and, in the current version of the game, I had to simplify them... But this simplification did not affect the images of cutscenes. After all, these images are the main feature of the game!

Well, the development of the game is in full swing, and is nearing completion... I won't predict the release date yet, because there is still a lot to do. After completing all the game levels, I will have to create all the missing images for the cutscenes. For me, personally, the process of creating images is the easiest, but also the most time-consuming.

If you are interested in the progress of game development, please keep an eye on the posts.
