New Story

Alright, first of all, sorry for not uploading today. I ended up spending 5 hours in the sun just so that I could get some paperwork started for someone to medically examine my father. It's a fairly complicated situation and somewhat private so I won't go into details as I don't feel comfortable sharing something like that on the internet (even if it's on Patreon). Anyway, I ended up absolutely exhausted from the bullshit I had to go through so I didn't have the energy to write anything.

Anyway, with that out of the way, I'm thinking about writing a second fanfic. I'm kinda really free and am getting a bit restless. Magical Marvel will continue with at least 4 chapters a week and I was thinking about writing another story who will also be have 4 new chapters per week.

I'm still iffy with the schedule but I'll deal with it later. Anyway, the new fic is going to be a SI (self insert) as Harry Potter but the thing is that they won't be the BWL. The goal will be to essentially try to elevate the Potter name. Anyway, I was thinking about writing the first few chapters on here before posting it elsewhere, so I could have an accurate feedback and modify the story if it's too bad.

This poll is me asking you if I should actually write a new story or just wait until the current one is finished to start it.

Finally, I want you guys to give me actual feedback about the current story. The X-men arc should end in the next 5 chapters or so, so things should change a bit, but I'm honestly kinda getting the feeling that the story is starting to get a bit stale. So if you guys would tell me if you have any issues or problems with the last few chapters, let me know in the comments and I'll take them into consideration as I'm writing.

To be honest jasmine up till now has never really fought properly. In addition, for relationships there has been nearly no mention of Selene. It feels like she still loves Hestia. Lastly her way of interacting and thinking is too human. I mean how can someone who has lived for thousands of years think and interact the same way as other humans.

I agree with the others that Jasmine is more in the background currently. Maybe having her as a more public figure would put her more into the action again. In the current arc she is not really needed anymore apart from mentoring Wanda. If you are able to write it Jasmine and Selene interacting with others as heads of their company, maybe even Hellfire Club stuff. Sure Jasmine said she doesn’t see the point of it but things changed now. Anyway you already mentioned that her taking a more central role again is planned. I would also love to see the relationship between Selene and Jasmine, as we haven’t really seen a lot of Selene. For the new story. I like the idea of it a lot. Have you planned a more political and economical focus or more on the SI being a magical powerhouse. I think both could be interesting the problem the magic focus often has, is that the MC is progressing way too fast. Which often leads to problems later in the story when the MC can either solve everything too fast or is simply too powerful. You did a great job with this story, so I’m looking forward to the new one.

hello, dear author. not being an author myself, I would give very bad advice. however, I will give you the choice made by another author that I patreon. Lacking inspiration for his first work, he has started a second fanfiction on another subject. Even if he found the inspiration for his first fanfiction, he made the choice not to scatter and finish his current fanfiction before starting his old fanfiction again. Regarding the ongoing story, while I understand the importance of character development, I have the impression that Jasmine is becoming more and more relegated to the background. more point of view on Jasmine or a flashback to refocus her as an MC wouldn't be bad.

Just make sure you do not feel to overwelmed to write. Jasmine has little to none action or battle.

Thank you! And also don’t forget to take time for yourself every now and then.

I get your point with Jasmine being a side character. It's just that I kinda screwed myself with the flashbacks and didn't leave her a lot of room for character growth. I kinda have a couple of ideas to fix this, especially with how I'm planning to end the X-men arc in a few chapters. Don't worry, after that, It'll be mostly just Jasmine. It's kinda hard to explain without spoiling a lot of stuff, but I understand where you're coming from and I am planning on fixing it.

I don’t mind you doing either option but I seriously recommend doing 6 chapters a week maximum instead of the 8 chaps a week you suggested to prevent burnout. It also sort of feels like magical marvel has changed to basically becoming the mc being a side character. But that is just my opinion and it could be wrong, I would just like some more chapters in jasmines pov.

I agree that you shouldn’t spread yourself thin, but I have dealt with the feeling of something going stale and slowly starting to feel that it’s doesn’t matter if you complete it or not. While you should focus on Magical Marvel I don’t think it would be bad to start up another story. If nothing else just pot it here and we can all be your beta readers. That way you can complete MM and are able to feel refreshed with out any promises or expectations of you completing this new story. If nothing else you could start your own ideas fic. A fic full of incomplete story ideas that you have. Just remember to not overwork yourself to the point you start to hate writing your own story. I have seen far to many fics abandoned because of that.

AgRoseCrystal

should put 75% to Magical Marvel and the last 25% to make a good rough draft on how you want the next story to go, seen way to many people post stories and having to drop one cause of problems

Skorno

Don't spread yourself too thin.
