Added 2024-08-24 22:27:26 +0000 UTCSooo… the popularity poll, huh? The results aren’t especially surprising, but I still am glad I did the poll. I mean, I did mention something along the lines of a side project before, right? The poll was mostly for me to know what you guys like and don’t like for the sake of future Sex Balley content and the elusive side project. HOWEVER, I am still going to give my thoughts and opinions on some stuff on the poll, as I usually do. I’m not going over every single character, but I’ll say some stuff about some characters that I actually have thoughts on.

Lene, Nihil, and Peach - Number 1,2 and 3 (147, 99, 95 votes)
The overwhelming majority of votes go to Lene! As expected. Lene has always been the most popular character. Nothing more to see here, though. It was expected the three futa girls would be the top 3, although I was expecting Peach number two. That’s on me for underestimating Nihil. Again.
Lamir - Number 4 (63 votes)
Lamir is very high up, just outside the podium. Lamir usually does well enough on these polls, as she’s just a very nice girl with a fun story. The fact that she appears all the time in-game and is always kind is a nice bonus for her.
Illyana, Hellena - Number 5 and 6 (53, 45 votes)
Illyana top 5 is slightly surprising to me. Illyana is one of the few characters that still hold a niche to this day(That being foot fetish stuff). Although I do admit that she has the best story in my opinion, and her third quest is my favorite thing in the game.
Now, Hellena doesn’t have as much going on as Illyana in the story department, but she is… well, big Illyana, with Illyana’s personality dialed up.
Nameless, Mia & Nia - Number 7, 10 (41, 22 votes)
Nameless is in the top 7 with no sex scenes. Wow. And Mia and Nia, two minor characters that are only relevant on Illyana’s story -AND have only a single scene- are very high up as well! Makes me wonder if they are that high because they have the votes for two characters.
Elinnie, Maribel, Clarine - Number 11, 14, 15 (19. 15,14 votes)
After Nameless, there is a massive dropoff in votes, but here we have the rest of the main girls. Very low when compared to Lene, Lamir, and Illyana’s positions. Makes me wonder why they are so low when compared to the other three. I guess Clarine just doesn’t have a very enticing story and character art, Maribel is just… well, she isn’t a very good character for this type of game, and Elinnie is… I have nothing on Elinnie. I think she’s fine? Maybe the forced anal niche on her may be the problem?
Hapi, Sophie - Number 17, 18 (12, 10 votes)
First off, this makes me sad.
Not the most interesting characters, though, and neither has a lot of content… and they both are on the “Naughty” side of the spectrum on how they are perceived in-game. (That is to say, neither is very dominant naturally, and most of their content is for a top player). And they are both very openly “used goods,” so maybe that’s also their issue? Hmm… lots to think about here.
Lilian, Jill, Emma - Number 23. 24, 25 (5,5,5 votes)
I mean, they are the most forgotten characters in terms of content, after all. Lilian looked weird until just recently and her new personality just makes her a bit of a douche, especially with poor little Nameless. Emma and Jill just don’t have much going for them, though. They have their quirks, but unlike all other villagers, they just… don’t do anything, so they never appear on any quests. I wouldn’t be surprised if most people don’t even remember who they are by their names.

I used to shy away a lot from doing older women at the start, with Maribel being the oldest character for a long time. Speaking of Maribel, I do think she’s a great character, but I feel like she’s a bit of a fish out of water. I originally made her so she would have a long romance story before getting sexual, and the change of that - and the second personality - might’ve made her feel a bit strange overall. And obviously, she just isn’t as spicy or horny as the other characters and doesn’t begin thirsting over the protagonist right at the start. Clarine is another regret of mine. She already starts as a “perfect character” in terms that she doesn’t change at all, she doesn’t have any major flaws other than being a pervert, and her story doesn’t have an overarching story with a nice conclusion. Each part of her story could be a standalone. You are correct about Sophie. If you choose to get rid of Eris, Sophie becomes attached to the player and sees him as the Eris replacement. Because there’s not much after the end of her story, it isn’t explored much, but that is the idea. If you do the Goddess fight after saving Sophie, she’s one of the characters that give the “love love” buff, something that shows that she just dumped all her feelings onto him. She and Peach are the only non-main girls who do so. If I had the chance, I'd love to explore Sophie's story more. For now though, she's an important character for Nameless's story, so we'll see how this will go.

Nihil being above Peach might be because this was a public poll and people might not have gone far enough in the story to do the relationship scenes with her or they just stopped when they saw that she was kinda special. I actually like Illyana and Hellena more for their character rather than the fetish attached to them (since I'm not into it) and that I really like dragon girls. A woman, proud and innocent, breaking through her prejudices and starting to earn the trust of the villagers with the help of MC and falling in love with him in the process is kind of nice. Hellena is that plus she's a mommy and I think you really underestimate your ability to write/draw MILFs because Roxanne is very good too. For Nameless, I guess that she make you want to protect her, care for her, have her enjoy life once again. I think she brings a lot of empathy and is kind of a blank state right now as her personnality will eventually develop with time by learning new things and simply enjoying life. For Mia and Nia, I've got absolutely no clues, I guess their interactions are kind of funny and their design is original. I don't really know why Elinnie is so low. She's not my favourite but she's fine. I wasn't really enticed by her story, I guess. MC just kinda going along whith her demands and I didn't like the character of Celeste, honestly kinda annoying wich didn't make me enjoy her quest as much. It still had some nice moments of intimacy between her and MC. Clarine is fine but she kinds of give you this "more than friends, less than lover" vibe or simply sex friends. I think she lacks depth as a character. You don't know much more about her at the end of her questline than you knew at the start. You can't make every characters have very dark and deep backstory and sometimes it's ok to have characters like that. All in all, she's nice but shee didn't entice me as much as the others. Now Maribel that really makes me sad. Because I actually like her character. The split personality is a nice touch. I don't know if there was a reason for it. I can't remember. Maybe her quest was the problem ? Her content not being spicy enough ? I'm shooting in the dark at this point. Hapi, like Clarine doesn't have much story to her, so maybe it's that. For Sophie, it's complicated, her design is good and a lot of work was put into her and it shows. Maybe as someone that lost her promised one, felt very lonely and Eris siezd this opportunity to become her everything. Now that she's alone again (depending on the quest). Now she's become emotionally dependant to the MC. She's of course, grateful to MC but at the same time I kind of feel bad for her. I do feel like she needs time and is already rushing to be loved again. It's not really portrayed this way in the game, it's more of a personal feeling. All of this is my opinion. Please take it with a grain of salt and don't hesitate to share your point of view. Also, this was a public poll so everyone that voted might not have done all the content the game has to offer wich could give some bias. That's all ! Thanks for reading.

2024-08-25 13:11:41 +0000 UTCLamir is my favorite in part because it really feels like she'd have the exact same relationship with the MC even if there wasn't the whole male shortage going on. She emits big main girl energy. You start the game already in a relationship with her. As for Lene and Illyana I think there's some tsundere theory going on where they start out cold but the MC wins them over. It helps the relationship feel more meaningful. The other three I'm not sure. I have no complaints about them, but at the same time there's nothing that really wowed me either. It's difficult to quantify.
