Hello !
Really nice episode of The Twilight Zone, which should have been out during christmas time, because it clearly made me think a lot of the Mr Scrooge stories and other tales like that. The first part of the episode was sad, the second part was moving. The story talks about a real important subject and a feeling that maybe we all had at some point : when I'm gonna disappear, did I leave behind me something, a mark on this world ? And for that teacher, it was about influencing his students enough, to have one of them becoming a writer.
But he didn't understand that it's not like that, that you leave a mark on this world and on people. His lessons didn't make them writers but he taught them through poetry how to be good human beings, principles and values that they kept their entire lives. It was also meaning to have these ghosts visiting him because they didn't have the chance to choose their deaths, so to have them talking like that to a man about to end his life⦠The final scene is also sweet because he accepts to retire, he sees his students visiting him just because they saw he was not feeling well⦠a Christmas episode, I said.
