You probably noticed that there are no 3D works with Kassandra at all (except for models that people created themselves). The answer here is pretty simple - we cannot normally rip assets out of the game. More precisely, we managed to extract her meshes (3D model parts), but not without problems.
Even this was extremely difficult, but in the end, I and others who managed it, encountered the main problem - there are no usual textures in the game. There are only height maps sorta and normals.
The answer was found in the video diaries of Ubisoft developers. It turns out they used a very tricky technology, thanks to which they color all models using in-game shaders. And this means only one thing - we canβt get them out of the game. There is only one option left - to paint the texture, but such a skilled person has not yet been found (probably)
Thanks to the new laptop, I can run Odyssey at the highest settings, and with the help of the photo mode, I made Kassandra model using photoscaning. Yes, maybe it doesnβt look as good as in-game Kassandra, but hey, if I could do it perfectly, I would probably already work with Ubisoft.
Kassandra and adult Ellie from The Last of Us are my personal "nemesis". I finally managed to cope with the first, but what about the second?
