This episode is a good final for the season and it can allow them to have a season 2, to confirm if Toranaga can really take the power or not with Lady Ochiba helping him, what is gonna happen to the Anjin during all of that process. But it can also conclude this story because the viewer can just imagine that Toranaga projection is gonna happen, that the introduction of this episode revealed what the Anjin would do and the viewer has just to fill the gaps.

For sure, I would love to have a season 2 ! With Fuji, please, she needs to come back : I'm glad she found peace and I understand the path she wants to take but for me, it doesn't go well with her personality. Without Yabushige and that's truly a surprise for me : I thought Mariko's husband would be the next to die, but maybe they want to keep him because he's a good warrior, he can teach the Anjin to fight with swords etc. And Yabushige's death brings, in fact, another time, the main subject of this show for me : dying with honor, what does it mean. Yabushige knew what it meant in episode 1, but here, desperate and lost, he preferred an epic death, and it's only at the end that he understands again.
