Hello !

This episode made me sad, for different reasons. First, we learnt more about Mariko and her mysterious background and, if we knew she wanted to join her dad into death, we didn't know he was considered a traitor and received the punishment of killing his entire family and himself. She hated to get married to her husband and he clearly abused her physically, verbally, emotionally, and the fact he did it here was not a surprise. The fact he survived in Osaka is clearly one on the contrary !

I felt sad as well for the gardener who got killed because of that stupid story with the pheasant. I understood why he did it, the fact that he felt he would die soon and because one has to sacrifice himself, he did it. But I hate that this honorable death was used to cover the spy of the village. I'm glad this one is not gonna be discovered but he just dirtied the memory of an honorable man, and I hate that.
