Don't worry about that, I know a fanfiction author (named Taloslives on AO3) who decided to write three books with his own plot based on the pilot and the first two episodes of the first season. All three versions are far cry from the original story in show. And overall they are really good. (Imp on fire, Salving Blitzo - Healing Blitzo, My princess)
