The opening scenes of this first episode are so great, interesting and deep : to see how Sauron was betrayed and killed, then how he managed to survive and gained strength little by little, all along these years… I was then surprised to see that he wanted to change path, and a little less shocked to see that maybe in fact he was just pursuing his destiny to be at the right place to face Galadriel. Her fight with Elrond during the entire episode was meant to go in her favor, but I didn't think the Elves would already wear their rings right now.

So to end with Sauron visiting Celebrimbor again, this one planning to make new rings, it's the promise of a new round of rings. But with the rhythm of this show, I have the impression everyone is gonna get their rings before the end of this season. And it's what Sauron needs, he has his plan in mind and facing his old enemy was a reminder of it.
