Hello !

The first episode of this final season was just a reminder of the reasons why we watch and appreciate this show. We're back with our characters, they are like we left them even if we had a big time jump. Their situations changed but not their personalities. And we have a Freydis leading her village nicely, a vikings wedding, while we have Harald involved in a big battle and Leif preparing a strategy so they can win it. It's cool, we're back.

The second episode is a little more about really showing the narrative arcs we're gonna follow this season. With for example Canute confronting the Pope, his wife being really involved in all of the deal while Godwin is thanked. With Harald in a duel with an Emir, being confronted with the question "is it truly worth it ?", to kill a man for his goal of coming back and taking the throne, and does he truly want that ? And in fact for me, the same question is asked to Leif : he wants more knowledge, he used it for his plan in episode 1, but some others can take his knowledge and use it badly… The situation at Freydis' village is not that important, if not for at the end everyone trusting Stigr as much as her.
