Patreon app via Apple iOS

A few months back, Apple changed the structure of how Patreon operates so that Apple receives more money. They take 30% of your payment vs the Patreon website's 5%. Apple's response to creators is for us to simply raise our prices to compensate.
I won't be doing that.
Not only that, but they hold onto those funds for 75 days before I and other Patreon creators can receive those funds. I currently have about $250 that Apple is holding onto until they decide I can have it.
I highly recommend never using the app. If you know others who use the iOS app, be sure to share this information as well.

2025-03-07 23:44:40 +0000 UTCSo a buisness i work for uses patreon as a way to give people discounts n stuff. We had someone ask why it was 89 dollars for a 50 dollar tier. Shocked to learn about it then but its insane how they can just change the price for apple users just like that.

2025-03-07 15:53:37 +0000 UTCTo be clear you can still use the app but make sure you don’t actually subscribe to anyone with it. Go on the web browser and sub through there. Sucks you have to have a workaround just to deal with Apple’s petty BS.
