Hello !

I loved this animated movie a lot, and mostly because of the messages that it explores. For sure, the story is cool, the characters are great and you can find into it all of the usual tools and things of a kid movie. But it's surely modern and really interesting for the principles that it presents : the characters are fighting to be accepted for who they truly are. Ball who is not recognized for the amazing knight he is just because he has poor origins, Nimona who is considered a monster just because she can transform into animals, she's different etc.

You can make a parallel with our societies and people being mistreated because of their origins, ethnics and socials, of their religions, their sexualities, just their differences. And you can also have the Director represent the ones who don't want to evolve, who says that everything is so perfect like it is and that these people shouldn't exist ; like you have Todd as a dumb follower of these ideas all along the movie, but who changes his mind at the end. So cool to have also two knights being in love here and the viewer just wishing for them to get back together. Feels so weird that it seems something modern to do. I would show that movie to my nephew, for all of these good messages put into it, and clearly also just for the fun he would have watching it.
