Arhneid truly died… She can't see any hope so she's giving up. And that's killing me. She had such a rough life, being separated from her family, being a slave for Ketil who used her again and again, and here was the one to beat her to death, losing Gardar who died in front of her… and she knows that nothing is gonna change, that war is gonna continue, people would always find reasons to fight and to enslave others. And she doesn't want to let life a new chance, not into this world, not without any hope.
And after all of what she suffered, she deserved it, to be finally at peace and with her loved ones. I was expecting her death, I was refusing it, I understood her reasons… it was hard for me. Thorgil's attack on Canute, it's not a surprise that it didn't work. More surprising that Ketil is not dead here, I thought we were done with the guy. But I don't want Einar to kill him, only for it would mean for him to do something like that. I'm just glad that Snake and Pater survived this fight they didn't want.
