Hello !
This entire episode was in fact a big discussion between Rick and Michonne, divided in different places. Michonne's character is at the end the real leader of this episode : she's the one not giving up on Rick, who is fighting to open his eyes, even if she's mad and sad, even if she can see that he's lying to her again and again. The interpretation of the actress was just sublime.
And, for sure, we have Rick and all of the steps he has to take to come back at being himself. We are seeing him fighting with himself : when she ran away, he hesitated a long time before opening the door to go after her, but he couldn't let her die surrounded by deads, and then he trusts her enough to stay and talk with her even if the building is collapsing. To finally reveal what he's truly afraid of : losing her again. The "Carl" button was well pushed here, like the writers know they can use it and have all the fans crying. I'm okay here because it was well written but please, don't do it too much, for my poor heart.
