What McNulty did at the end of the episode shocked me a lot. We saw him at his lowest, being so drunk, being unfaithful, being rejected by people, but for me, what he did here was the worst thing that he ever did. Because during the first seasons, even at his darkest points, I respected McNulty for the good job he was making, the fact he values his work that much. And here, he proved he doesn't respect his job anymore.
Like the journalist who lied about the story. We saw that the guy is ambitious and he wants to be noticed, but to lie about something like that… As a former journalist, I'm shocked and I have a lot of hate for that action. I know that here, Bubbs doesn't want to think about Sherrod and until he's doing it, he's never gonna be great in his mind. But he's occupying himself by doing legal and good things, when before he could have never done it.
