Hello !

You can't know it but I'm a huge fan of Monk, it's one of my comfort shows, one that I know by heart all seasons, that I still watch now while I'm working or doing my laundry. I loved all the cases, the evolution of the character, his love for Trudy… So for sure I will watch the movie ! I knew it would be well written, full of references for the fans, with something a little deeper for Monk… and I was right ! But I didn't expect the writers to go that far with the character.

For Mr Monk to plan during the entire movie to give up, to join Trudy, it disturbed me a lot. Because I was seeing all of his evolution and I love him so much that it hurts to see him so low. The case was interesting for itself, but it was also a good parallel : Monk fought all of his life to find Trudy's murderer, and he decided to stay alive to help Molly, Trudy's daughter, to find the murderer of the love of her life. But I love that the final answer brings something else : Monk helped so many people, they all want him to continue, to help new ones. This movie felt like a big hug to the fans and to the character himself. Life was rough for everyone these last years but giving up is not the solution, people, your loved ones like anyone, need you to continue.
