This is the third WIP post of Self Service, the animation you voted on! These posts are aimed to give you insight into my workflow and show you my creative process. Below is a segmented list with images and GIFs of everything I accomplished this week.
The next preview is ready! You can find the full resolution preview in the files below. There aren't a lot of changes in the non-rendered version, so take a look at the WIPs of the renders!
This scene was particularly challenging as the building in SIM's hand needed to be pretty beat up. This building did not originally come destroyed, so I had to damage it up! Editing the geometry directly and messing with the materials helped achieve a more destructive look.

Creating the ground dust is also quite simple! It's just a looping noise texture with a vector transform based on the current frame number.

And the results speak for themselves!

This scene was actual quite simple to light. It uses an HDRI and two additional area lights to make sure SIm is the focus of the animation.
And that's all for this week! All that's left are the simulation FX and some additional environmental details! The animation should be complete within the next two weeks.
