This is the fourthWIP post of Teabag Tower, the animation you voted on! These posts are aimed to give you insight into my workflow and show you my creative process. Below is a segmented list with images and GIFs of everything I accomplished this week.
You can also find a full preview animation of what I completed this week in a .mp4 file below!
This week I prepped a couple test renders of a small snippet of the beginning and ending of the animation so I could identify any issues with the scene and lighting. As you can see, there are some clear problems with flashing in the skylight. I'm currently working on a fix for that.

In the description there is also the full non-rendered mp4 for the progress I made this week.
This week I finished up the environment for Teabag Tower. It mainly consisted of lighting the environment and populating it with a crowd. Below is a viewport render along with a fully lit render of the scene.

Finally to the juice of the animation... the glass simulation! The simulation is comprised of a fractured version of the original skylight that explodes under the pressure of Legacy's balls via rigid body simulation. It's a mouthful, I know, but it makes for one hell of a good looking shatter! You can see it in a more stable framerate in the preview below.

For this animation I wanted to make sure Legacy was on display in his full glory. An important aspect of that was making sure he was well lit while also maintaining the dramatic nature of the scene. A giant lynx looming above needs to be intimidating after all!
Another important aspect of the lighting was to make sure he occludes (blocks) a lot of the light when he lowers himself down. He's big enough where he should block a good chunk of the light reaching into the space.
