I love Egwene so much during this season : after the first season where she was trying to show everyone who she is, she finally found herself in fact during this season, in that cell. She's strong and she knows it, she's brave, she doesn't give up. And in a way, I would love for her to save herself, to do it on his own. When, for real, everyone is now coming to help her. Like Rand and Moiraine made an alliance with Lanfear with that.
Even Mat is right here, and it's killing me. To see Ishamael tempting him with that potion (how can we be sure it's one which is making him his true self ?) and then whispering to his ears these awful thoughts… Since the beginning, they all think that he's gonna evolve badly and it's making him the worst of himself, when in fact he always made the right decisions. I love him, I trust him.

Hello ! Yes, I noticed the braid moment : for me, she was focusing on herself, she was trying to remember her life, from where she is, in fact all of the good moments she had in her life, by doing it. I'm really glad you like the show and, even if it's not perfect, it's giving you the experience you have when you read it and you have a place where to have/share your love for this universe and story 😊

I smiled in the intro when you called out the chosen one trope and how those characters can be selfish, knowing that Lan was going to say the same thing to Rand shortly. And I cheered too when Egwene delivered that great line to Renna. She really is finding herself, and I think there was a nice touch in that scene as she was putting her hair back into her Two River's braid. To your last point, I'm one of those long-term book fans. I began reading the series in the mid 90's and have reread them multiple times. I'm very happy with the show. It was a little hard in season 1 seeing some of the changes to the story I knew, but watching reactions of people who hadn't read the books like you, helped me see that even though the story may be a bit different, the overall plot and the heart is still the same. I really love the show now because it's giving us a chance to experience The Wheel of Time anew again, and bringing new friends along for the ride. Thanks for letting us be on that journey with you ❤️
