I mentioned this in my podcast, but if you don't know, I'm working with a local landscape design group called Hardy Californians to redo my garden in the front. They only work with native plants, and I like their message and what they do as a company.
To be honest... the illustrations aren't thaaat good, but it gives a decent idea of what the finished product could look like. They're helping with plant selection, design, layout, plant sourcing, and sourcing materials.
The second picture was their first draft because I mentioned a pergola would be nice, but they said there isn't enough room so they got creative and made this ladder contraption lol. After seeing the illustration, I was like... ohhh no that's not great. Chairs like this I'm also not a big fan of.
In Japan, I saw these large rocks used as a seating area so I proposed that as an option. There were also those tiles around businesses and temples that I thought looked unique. Not too rugged, but still tidy and neat. It looks better than the gravel imo.
This isn't the final draft. I think I want more hardscaping and defined areas. There is a bit too much grass for my liking.
