Shay the Cowgirl Sheriff, raring to get some nice color practice done on her :> - WIP - July 25th

ok, so here's one of the bigger pieces i've been working on lately, and here's your super secret extra patron bonus content, cuz i forgot to upload this earlier lol

anyways, it's one of the bigger pieces, not cuz of what the piece is, but it's one of my most experimental and non-standardized pieces. it is color practice, but the first thing you'll notice is that... well there's not very much color right now. this is more so for shaping practice, and making my pieces look like a 3d piece, which is a high goal to achieve but an AMAZING way to understand and process shading/lighting better!!

so, on the left, is two types of a shading on a femboy/girl head and a daddy head, one with front-lighting and back-lighting. the back-lighting was something i really wanted to experiment with, cuz i realized there's not one piece that utilizes back lighting in my 3 years of drawing, so it felt like the right time to practice!!! this is normal day lighting, and that familiarity helps the shaping and shading because it's something already understood applied under a new practice. with that said, the newer stuff i wanted to try was that 3D shaping, that way it can simulate the realistic lighting and fluidity of an amazing 3D animation, but with all the added and excruciating detail of a painted & rendered piece. a lot of focus will be going into the shaping, because it's something that has been processed, but i was never comfortable with the level it was at. as for color, it will definitely have the saturated vibrant feel to it, because that's a new staple to my art. however!! something was learned this time, and it was that sunlight specifically saturates colors a lot more than any other light... pretty obvious when spelled out, but what that means is that when combined with my decision to add more colors to pieces, it means that there will be a lot more vibrant warm colors, most notably pink and orange, with a tinge of blue from the sky which seems to be a great color palette!! the key will be combining that new knowledge with an attempt to make the pic as realistic and 3D as possible!! will be a fun set of WIP's for sure ;3

ok and as for the picture, this is Shay in her Halloween cowgirl outfit!! she was chosen because her outfit was adorable and i wanted to draw it more, and it was a sort of gift towards my GF kinda a lil, but ehhh lol not rly. Shay has a patterned bikini top with matching lacey pink panties (will be detailed later), leather gloves, a tattered hero's cape, belts and straps, gun holders, transparent latex thigh highs, a cowgirl hat with a pink rim, and of course her braided hair. it's a shame her hair bow and high heel boots don't fit the frame tho, oh well. this takes place at a photo shoot hosted by auri to take some beautiful pics of Shay, so technically the desert lighting is artificial, but it all looks the same. theydon't have the funds to go to the desert so it's the best they got lol.

and lastly, for details to change: Shay's gloves, belt straps, and possibly her thigh highs will be changed to white, some sort of fake sheriff badge will be added, along with making her face more happy and excited rather than "scary", which is tricky in this lighting. this is because at this angle, with her uniform, and her smile combined makes her look kind of like an outlaw. instead, she'll have some white clothing to make her look like a very trustworthy sheriff, and really just cuz white makes Shay look more sexy because of how bright her personality is.

hope you enjoyed that read, it's got all the details for my future in art ;3 also yes her guns are props
