This was initially a test to handle collisions between actors with procedural animations in Unreal 5, but I ended up making it a more complete animation.
For the last month I've been toying with turning my model into a full game asset instead of a vessel for things I animate in Blender. The motivation behind it was to make take advantage of the work I put in making animations, use it to build a toolbox I can use for a game project in Unreal Engine further down the road.
This ended up being really really fun!
I learned about motion matching and all kinds of fun procedural animation tricks. Super eager to put it in action into something playable at some point.
Expect more scenes like this in the future, now that the technical foundation is up and running 💜
