RWBY: It All Comes Down To The Force

CHAPTER 1

-

Waking up from a jerk, Lukas sluggishly uncovered the sleeping mask on his face as his vision struggled to regain itself after being blocked by the cloth material that stuck on his face for a prolonged period of time.

Rubbing his eyes to let them concentrate, he quickly checked his person to make sure that everything he owned was in its original locations before he stood up with a brief yawn.

"Looks like we landed."

He muttered as he grabbed the backpack under the seat where he sat and slung it on a shoulder before following the group of students who started walking out of the Bullhead.

As he exited the large transportation, he shielded his face from the glare of the sun before looking up to the sky, where a large tower blocked a part of his vision, standing tall as the symbol of the current institute he was located at.

"Huh, the tower is larger than I thought."

With a pull on his backpack, he looked forward at the castle-esque structure before him where he'll be studying for the next four years and continued his journey through the long pathway that connected to the building, tuning out the conversations of excitement around him.

BOOM!

And there's already explosions happening. Great.

Briefly glancing at the general area where the explosion occurred, he gave a quick thought before walking in the direction of the loud boom, intending to help out as much as he could...

Only to find no one present after a few minutes of walking. Looks like the people responsible had moved on, though the place was still ruined with debris and destruction.

Looking around to check if no one was present in the area, he let the backpack on his shoulder drop to the ground before raising both hands.

With a deep breath, he exhaled before gently letting the Force guide him.

Resistance introduced itself as he felt a strain at the back of his head, but he persevered as soon as the debris and rocks that surrounded the area started to twitch briefly before floating in the air.

Soon, the area was reverted to its original state, sans the explosion marks that were left by presumably mismanaged Dust crystals along with other miscellaneous things that couldn't be fixed with simple telekinesis.

Rolling his neck, he breathed out a heave before he hastily restarted his travels to the auditorium, issued by the vice-headmaster of Beacon Academy a week before orientation day. He thanked the past version of himself for seeking a map online beforehand; it helps when the school is this large.

Reaching the auditorium wasn't much of a hassle, though it was tedious with how many turns he had to take. The place was rather crowded, so he made his way to an isolated place near the window where there was an extended seat that he could rest on.

Resting on the extended seat, he grabbed a book he was reading the night before from within his backpack to pass the time, slowly enjoying the book as he flipped the pages, waiting for something to happen.

After about 5 minutes had passed, finally the orientation started with the arrival of the headmaster and the vice-deputy. The tapping on the microphone made him shift his attention to the sole stage in the auditorium center as headmaster Ozpin gave his speech.

"I'll... keep this brief. You have traveled here today in search of knowledge, to hone your craft and acquire new skills, and when you have finished, you plan to dedicate your life to the protection of the people."

He pauses for a second as his eyes glance at the students below him.

"But I look amongst you, and all I see is wasted energy, in need of purpose, direction. You assume knowledge will free you of this, but your time at this school will prove that knowledge can only carry you so far. It is up to you to take the first step."

With his piece said, the headmaster took a step back and disengaged himself from the whispers of the students as his vice-deputy stepped forward.

"You will gather in the ballroom tonight; tomorrow, your initiation begins. Be ready. Until then, you are dismissed."

As the two faculty members of Beacon Academy walked away from the auditorium, Lukas noted that the headmaster's eyes lingered on his for a moment longer, though he suspected it to be nothing more than a coincidence as he returned to his book.

Astronomy wasn't going to learn by itself, after all. Good thing he made sure to find a good spot to rest for the day; it looked like the majority of to-be students were opting to rest on the floor.

Waking up with the light of dawn pleasantly on his face, Lukas got up from his resting area, the seat of the window, before gently letting both legs hit the ground.

Looking around, he saw that everyone in the auditorium was sound asleep, except for a red-headed girl with long hair who was rummaging through her belongings.

Since everyone was asleep... He should have peace and quiet for his daily routine. So, he got onto the ground and tucked his legs with his hands on either knee, his body in a lotus position, before he slowly closed his eyes and breathed.

The world around him disappears into nothingness as his mind clears, feelings and emotions fading away into emptiness. For a split moment, everything was eerily silent.

And then, the Force fills in the gaps of emptiness.

His mind centers itself in simple power while the Force strengthens its connection within him, letting it wash over him physically and spiritually.

The Force is with him.

And he is one with the Force.

Serenity and calmness pulsed throughout his entire being as his memories and thoughts drifted away, leaving nothing else but peace in his mind.

Though as much as he would love to keep meditating, he had an initiation to confront, so he willed himself back to reality, letting the Force slowly vacate his mind.

Opening his eyes once more, he noted that the day had gone by significantly with the majority of supposed asleep students already starting their day, whilst the sun in the sky had already shifted in position slightly.

Getting up from his meditative position, he went to his backpack for the time. Picking up his Scroll, he turned it on to see the lock screen with the clock presented at the top center of the screen.

"I should get ready."

Turning it off, he hefted the backpack before making his way to the facilities that Beacon allowed them to use prior to the initiation, most notably the cafeteria to fuel up for the day and the locker room to pick up equipment for the initiation, though he opted to bring his own luggage with him since everything that he owned was already on his person.

The famed Beacon Cliff was much higher than what people say, Lukas thought to himself as he looked down from the cliff to the dense forest before him. He doubts that even he could survive falling from this height if it weren't for the fact that he had the Force with him.

His eyes drifted to the metal platforms that were constructed on the flooring of the cliff, understanding the purpose of such mechanisms the moment he realized what the staff of Beacon was about to do.

... He suppressed the headache forming from the insanity of the headmaster's decision.

Following the orders of the vice-deputy, he walked on top of one of the free metal platforms and waited for the rest to follow along.

"For years, you have trained to become warriors, and today, your abilities will be evaluated in the Emerald Forest."

The headmaster gave a short introduction as vice-deputy Glynda Goodwitch continued.

"Now, I'm sure many of you have heard rumors about the assignment of "teams." Well, allow us to put an end to your confusion. Each of you will be given teammates... today."

"These teammates will be with you for the rest of your time here at Beacon. So it is in your best interest to be paired with someone with whom you can work well. That being said, the first person you make eye contact with after landing will be your partner for the next four years."

He swore that he could hear glass shatter as mummers floated around the area, though it was immediately silenced with a whip of vice-deputy Goodwitch's riding crop.

"You will be monitored and graded through the duration of your initiation, but our instructors will not intervene. You will find an abandoned temple at the end of the path containing several relics. Each pair must choose one and return to the top of the cliff. We will regard that item, as well as your standing, and grade you appropriately. Are there any questions?"

Headmaster Ozpin questioned as he looked for any objections. One hand raised sky-high as a boyish voice asked.

"Yeah, um, sir?"

The headmaster, however, didn't seem to notice the hand in the air as he nodded with satisfaction on his face.

"Good. Now, take your positions."

Lukas immediately got into a ready stance. His body crouched slightly, a hand on the metallic cylinder near his left hip with the other out in preparation. The ends of his robes fluttered as a gust of wind blew opposite from where he was facing, his mind mentally preparing for the confrontation that was about to occur.

"Uh, sir? I've got, um... a question—"

Before the person could get his question answered, the worldview around him suddenly shifted as Lukas launched into the sky from the metal platform that now revealed itself to be a springboard towards the dense forest below.
