MCU: Daily Gacha Pulls with the D.A.S.I.S

CHAPTER 1

-

Suddenly waking up in a different place than your own room would make you panic. In fact, during said panic, when you look at a mirror on a table near the bed you were just lying on and see a different face, said panic would worsen.

That wasn't the worst either, as a split second after realizing that I was in a whole different body, I got the headache that threatened to shake heaven. It was so severe that I started bleeding from my nose and ears.

Yeah, that serious. Thankfully it resolved rather quickly, though two hours of silent screaming was not fun for the soul and especially the throat. Just feeling the coarse texture when swallowing my saliva makes me shudder at the thought of the pain I'd be feeling after this adrenaline rush is over.

OK, recap time. Clearly, I died and reincarnated into a random body in another world with a cheat. The standard isekai package, to be fair. As of how I died, while I was out driving back home from college, some dumb idiot rear-ended me at a cross-junction, sending my car straight into the center of the intersection, where a speeding truck slammed into me head-on.

The ROB that was assigned to my reincarnation was a chill person, though giving me the package using spinning wheels was not cool.

My gacha luck is notoriously horrible when it comes to what I want and what I don't want. Usually the latter is the common result.

Ahem, moving on.

So, Marvel. Just thinking about this world at the surface level is giving me a migraine. Ugh. Why Marvel? Out of all worlds... Actually, on that thought process, I think the MCU version was the best result that I could have gotten, now that I think about it.

Better the Marvel Cinematic Universe than whatever multiverse-bullshit Spiderman authors make. Just what were they smoking when they thought it was a good idea to introduce Paul?

Getting off-tangent, oops. This adrenaline stuff is really kicking me in the nuts right now. Focus on the important things, Derrick. We can deal with when and where I am soon.

Anyways, my Isekai cheat. Or "golden fingers" to the Chinese cultivation fans out there. Singular, unfortunately, but it can be plural if I have the patience.

The Daily Accumulation Sign-In System. The D.A.S.I.S. for short. It was... easy to understand in a sense? I can sign in to the system for a Login Point, LP, since the full word was annoying to say in a sentence.

With a LP, I can use it to — 'Of course this is what I get from a gacha-based draw' — roll a specific banner of choice for rewards.

Fuck me, I guess. It seems like my luck is following me even in the afterlife and beyond.

I can only have a maximum stock of up to 7 LP at a time though, unless I clear Quests that will pop up here and there to increase the cap or simply get unique achievements with my actions.

Me isekai-ing here already increased the cap from 5 to 7 LP along with gifting a generous 5 LP, so that's a plus.

Capiche? Good. Now the problems. One, the percentage of getting a good gacha pull.

Ever played FGO? I recommend you not. I spent over $300 dollars back in the day when FGO had no pity system trying to get my thigh goddess Space Ishtar back to my Chaldea. In the short version, even with using more than one LP, the chance of fumbling the bag is still there.

There are ranks to the items and rewards that I get from the gacha. From F-rank all the way up to S-rank. Most of the time, the rates are locked.

F — 40%

E — 30%

D — 15%

C — 10%

B — 4%

A — 1%

S — 0.1%

Are you seeing these rates? Cause holy moly, are these rates utter trash! Mind you, if I were to want a specific S-rank reward, I would have to hit that 0.1% chance, PLUS run through another damn ringer to hit another percentage chance to get the mentioned reward that I want since there are a plethora of items that are S-rank too! That's like, two gachas in one!

Problem number 2, the banner list.

Now, limited banners. Where do I begin with you? First off, they are limited, meaning that there's a deadline for it. Usually it's two weeks per banner, with a gap of a full week before a new limited banner is available.

Doing the math, with 99+ pages of rewards that I can potentially get — 'First thing I checked, it was depressing' — the odds of getting a reward that I want are practically 0% with hundreds of decimal places of zeroes. But there was a silver lining.

Limited-time banners offer an increased rate-up for specific items. So, instead of the thousands of zeroes to get one specific reward, the chance of getting the rate-up rewards is...

B — 20%

A — 5%

S — 1%

Mind you, this does not change the summoning odds in the earlier table. Meaning, I'd have to hit that 0.1% chance to get a S-rank reward and then hit another 1% to get the rate-up item. A 0.1% of a 1%, which equated to a 0.00001% chance.

I want to cry, but I had already shed all of it when the ROB explained the system and its quirks.

But wait! This isn't copium, but it isn't that bad. From what the ROB gave me as examples, the items in other ranks aren't that bad!

... The ranks above D only; mind you, the F and E-rank items are all just common stuff in any world, but semantics!

A Seed of Chakra to unlock Chakra is C-rank. C rank! That's a 20% chance; it was doable! Admittedly, it's to only allow me to use Chakra and doesn't give anything else, but hey. Progress, people!

And what are the S-rank rewards when a C-rank one is already pretty good, you may ask?

The Ultimate Stand, Golden Experience Requiem from Jojo's Bizzare Adventure Part 5. For those who know, know. For those who don't know, a short version of its ability is to revert all hostile actions and intent aimed towards the user back to the state of "zero," nullifying and preventing anything from becoming "real.".

That's some reality-warping shit, and it was its ability. It has infinite power, speed, range, precision, duration, and development potential. Infinite.

It makes sense why the odds are so low when dealing with an S-rank reward.

Phew! Processing this took a while; the blood dripping from his ears and nose had already stopped dripping and dried out. With the cheat out of the way, it's time to address the smaller elephant in the room.

Walking to the bathroom connected to the room I was currently in, I took a good look at this unfamiliar yet familiar face of mine.

Dark brown locks of messy hair, jet black eyes that stared back, and a face with much potential. This was Derrick Pendragon. Currently 13 and living in the prominent city of the US of A, New York. Handsome to boot when older, I can already see the heartthrob that is me in a few years time, give or take.

Washing my face and getting rid of the dried blood, I continued to recall my backstory. Pretty generic too for a standard isekai package. Parents are dead, have been since I was 6 years old, via a gang shoot-out in Hell's Kitchen.

I was alone in this simple studio apartment near Forest Hills, with his grandparents, bless their souls, coming to visit every so often to check up on me. Money-wise, not great. Sure, I can access my inheritance money from my parent's will, and I get some allowance from my grandparents, but I'm just scrapping by.

OK, now onto the larger elephant in the room, though I shouldn't do it in the bathroom. Walking out and flopping onto my sofa in the living room, I looked at the system. From what my memories told me, the first Avengers movie already happened just a few months ago.

I was in school when they suddenly barged into Earth and were evacuated to some shelter funded by the government; I didn't get to see any action. I did, however, see the destruction that the invasion caused once everything was wrapped up.

I thanked the heavens for my apartment being a good distance away from NYC, where the Battle of New York happened, or else I'd have to find another apartment with such low rent to live in. That would have been a nightmare.

The headache that I was facing was the timeline. I had no clear clue when and where the movies were held. Hell, I don't recall some of the side projects that the MCU had. I only remember the bare basics of the chronological movies till the end of the Infinity Saga. Details like time and place where it happened, the in-between cuts that the movie took place off-screen, etc. were considered blank to me.

The movie that took place after the first Avengers movie was... Iron Man 3. Yeah, it was, I think, a year after the first Avengers movie? Maybe two? Damnit, this was a pain in the ass. I have no coherent timeline available other than my shoddy memory.

Ugh, this was already starting to feel like another headache. I'll put this in the backburner for now then. I have approximately half a year to prepare for Iron Man 3, give or take. I'll think about what to do when the plot happens eventually.

Now, the fun part! Or the worst part, depending on where you see it. Good thing today's a weekend, or else I'd be late to school.

Gacha Time!

5 LP means that he had 5 chances to get something good! He opened his system to see the current banners that were available to pull from. There were only two banners available. The normal Story Banner without any limited time rewards and the New User Beginner Banner.

The Story Banner was a banner in which I can roll for items that I've touched outside of the DASIS gacha rewards. Long story short, anything that I touch that is not from the gacha system will be available to be summoned from the gacha. So, if I ever managed to, I don't know, go to another dimension, if I touch it, I get the chance to summon it.

Meanwhile, the New User Beginner Banner gave rate-ups to instant increases that would be beneficial to the user, like a strong body or a power system, with some skills and techniques being the super rare ones.

Grabbing the nostalgic iPhone 5 that lay on my exposed bedframe due to how small my mattress was, I unlocked it and went to YouTube to play my main gacha ritual music that I play whenever I pull for someone important in my gacha games, The Final Countdown.

Say what you want, but music past the year 2020 sucked. I'm more of a fan of the older music genre instead of the mumble rapping and weird short melodical choices that my era had.

While I waited for the beat to drop, I started praying with both hands interlocking.

"I beg of thee, RNGesus. Save me from temptation and bless me with your good luck. Guide me with thy loving hands and show me the way not to F to D-rank trash, but take me to the super rare items where C-rank plus rewards lay. Amitabha."

Finishing the most intensive ritual prayer known to mankind, I instantly started pulling the moment The Final Countdown hit its apex.

Looking at the results, I thought about it before shrugging with a little disappointment. The rewards weren't that bad. The physical items were stored into the system's inventory system. I had no idea that the DASIS even had an inventory feature; that's really good to know.

"I mean, at least I got something from the One Piece universe; that's something."

Opening the descriptions of all the rewards to read, I noticed something interesting.

===========================================

Butterbeer (Harry Potter) - [E]

A popular wizarding world drink served to kids and adults. Slightly alcoholic, with it tasting a little bit like butterscotch, but it is really comforting, as Michael Gambon says! The secret is the magic, love!

===========================================

Totsuki-Grade Culinary Knives (Food Wars) - [D]

Knives graded and praised by Totsuki graduates for their sharpness, comfortability, and durability. The set contains a chef's knife, a paring knife, and a serrated knife. Congratulations! You're now a chef!

===========================================

Physical $50 USD (MCU) - [F]

It's just a $50 dollar bill. Nothing more, nothing less.

===========================================

Body Composition Upgrade (One Piece) - [C]

Changes the user's body physiology to the One Piece's standard of physiology. It will increase the body's regeneration rate, raw power output from muscles, potential limit, and perhaps even more if taken.

===========================================

Mishima-Style Karate (Tekken Series) - [B]

An ancient martial art used to exterminate demons, mostly used by members of the Mishima Clan. With the basis stemming from karate styles, the style emphasized swift yet powerful blows to weak points of the body.

===========================================

The One Piece reward is huge. And I mean, HUGE. Have you seen One Piece characters get fatally wounded yet come back as if nothing had happened? Even baseline regular people in that world have been shown to survive things such as pillars of lightning exploding.

That is really good. My durability, power, speed, and more will be enhanced. It's like a weird Super Soldier serum if you'd want to compare it in MCU terms. I get quite a lot of benefits from this C-rank reward.

The Mishima-Style Karate is what I'm confused about. It's a B-rank meaning it should be more worth than the Body Composition Upgrade, but it's just martial arts techniques? From what I'm understanding, since the system gives the theoretical application of the skill upon receiving the reward, there are moves that each Mishima Clan member can perform...

I'm scratching my head to figure out why it was a higher rank than Body Composition Upgrade, only to shrug.

Whatever, maybe I'll see its true potential once I master it or something. At least I got a good martial arts style to pair with my new body enhancement.

Though I am not feeling anything different with my new body upgrades. No rush of power nor any visual difference. I don't feel stronger nor faster. I'm still good old me. Hmm.

Oh well, if the system says that I got the rewards, that means that I have them. I shouldn't question it and just go with the flow.

Now, about the butterbeers that I just got... Time to see if it was worth all the hype it got when Prisoner of Azkaban was released.
