RWBY: Just a Gamer Grinding Away

CHAPTER 5

-

Yeah, traversing with this stacked buffs made travelling so easy! Ever since clearing the dungeon, I've covered more distance than it took me weeks to!

So, where was I heading? I have no idea! I did the job of scouting by launching myself up into the sky to see any civilization, but nothing stood out other than green and green. So, I did the normal thing anyone would have done in my position.

I tossed a stick to the sky and started walking once it fell to the ground and pointed to a direction. Genius, I know.

There were some bad news though. One, was it me, or is it getting chilly? The temperature dropped significantly when it came to day number 4 of walking after the dungeon, which was about day 35-ish of his whole reincarnation shebang.

... Damn, it's been almost a month now? Wow, if I was still alive in my old world, I'd be nearing my birthday now. And here I was, 15 again when I was so ready to get blackout drunk at 21.

Sigh... Stop thinking bout this, Ashton. New life, new chance. This time, I'll do things right. No more procrastinating on important things, no more holding back anymore, starting with getting to human civilization.

Anyways, second bad news. Grimm are more aggressive ever since I started spamming the two new skills. I used Aura Burst more than its Mana variant cause of its high regeneration rate, and I've found out something real interesting. Grimm are attracted to Aura like moths to a flame.

This was found with a few days of experimenting, but it's true. That was a little annoying, but I can live with it. Less use of Aura Burst, and more of Mana, since it doesn't look like it does anything to agitate them.

So, I was busy trying to make constructs made of Mana while walking. I had enough potions for now, and all potions I'll make would be lesser variants, so there wasn't any point.

So far, no chance. The Mana that I was pulling from my core didn't budge outside my body at all. It's a little frustrating, but I still tried to do it. Using Aura instead also hit a dead end. I was thinking of the lines of Vergil's Mirage Blades, I'll have to try again later.

For now, though... Status.

5 days of training gave me an extra 15 points to spend, and I'd love to spend them on my MA stat since I have a use for it now, but I resisted the urge for now. I'll hoard it until I need it in the future.

While I was continuing my way, I suddenly smelled something foreign. It smelt... salty? Then the sound of water crashing could be heard. Waves? Was there a sea? But how, I would have seen it when I jumped high into the sky a few weeks ago?!

Hold up, let me just... Channelling both Aura and Mana, I crouched slightly with my leg muscles coiling before launching myself up into the sky with my hundred plus stat of STR and CON. Feeling the winds rush onto my face, I closed my eyes to cover them from the winds until I felt myself up in the apex of the jump, and opened my eyes.

... Holy shit, that was a sea! And white... Snow? The Kingdom of Atlas? How in the fuck did I miss that?! Oh, maybe it's because of my low-stats back then that didn't allow me to jump high enough to see this!

And woah, there are so many islands around the one I was currently in — Fuck, I'm falling! Fast!

Bracing myself and covering myself with as much Aura as I can, I dropped to the ground with a loud thud that sent the ground shaking slightly.

"Ow..."

It didn't really hurt, Aura was such a useful thing —

ROARRR!

Oh, come on, Aura! I just praised you! Bringing out my weapons, I got to work slicing and dicing. Might as well make the most of this free EXP.

"Well... This is a problem."

I muttered under my breath as my eyes looked at the white snowy trees from the cliff, to the large sea that laid between my destination and me. Yeah, there's a huge ass sea in the middle, blocking me from what seems to be Atlas.

I could make out the flying island from my current area. Looks minuscular, which was honestly frightening considering the fact that I was thousands of miles from it.

Hmmm... How to get over? What a predicament I was currently in...

OK, after thinking it through, I had a few choices to make.

1. Get to Atlas via travel. Production Class for a reason, I could probably make a really good boat with good stats from the Game.

2. Get to Atlas via running with high AGI stat like the Flash. I'd never really tested out my full speed before, and Aura could be used as a functioning replacement for Chakra.

3. Change directions, I remember seeing a whole continent-sized island behind my back. I think that's Vale? Or Mistral, I didn't really see the map of RWBY back when I was watching Volume 3.

I really like the sound of 2, but 1 and 3 are the most consistent. I'm leaning more to 1, though, because I'm a little bitter that I choose the wrong direction after so many weeks of walking just to hit such an obstacle.

Rolling my shoulders, I brought out Storm Breaker and started chopping down wood for the boat. At least I'm using my time right, grinding away my Production Mastery.

"What the hell is this?"

I whispered in awe as I looked at the brown and white boat that I just finished using oak and some kind of wood originally from Remnant that was white called Institute Birch. This only took 2 days, which was actually pretty good in my books, but the point of interest was currently on the boat's Observe description.

[ Unnamed Boat (Epic) ]

[ The god-like work of a novice Producer. This boat shouldn't even exist in the world, yet with a miracle roll on the LUK stat, the boat is born with the craftsmanship that one would admire as godly.

Boasting a highly durable hull, a slick aerodynamic design, smooth surface to decrease friction, to enchantments granted by the God of Creation, a one-in-a-billion chance for someone so powerful with little time to notice this beautiful piece of craftsmanship. ]

I... I just made a god piece? Holy shit, what is this? I kinda just tunnel-visioned and then boom, god piece.

God of Creation? Which one, the God of Light from Remnant or someone else? This just sent so many warning signals in my head! There were gods that could track my progress? That is creepy as hell.

Bless my LUK stat, I'll keep in mind to up that shit up more if stuff like this would appear more often for a high stat.

But the benefit this god gave though... Thank you very much, sir, I'll use this very well! A name first, as per tradition, and to check the dimension out before I drop it into the sea.

Hmmm... Ah, I know the perfect name. I grinned at the idea, sometimes I'm just really good at naming stuff.

"I'll call you the Going Creation. Reference of the first shōnen anime I ever watched, and the god that gifted me you."

Watching the Observe page change the boat's name, I looked away at the Observe page and focused on the other pop-ups that appeared upon finishing this boat.

I took a moment to process everything before sitting down. This was just... Ugh, so much info was just dumped to me. OK.

The first two are nice, its the latter two that I have to make a hard decision for.

Perks. How do I even get them, Game?

I see... So it would be hard to get then. I'll have to spend them wisely then. Tapping on each Perk, I read their bonuses that they grant. Basically each of them gives a permanent passive 10% buff per stat corresponding to the perk. But the last one...

I instantly purchased it with my single Perk Point.

[ DROPS OF FALLEN FOES ]

[ The God of Reality changes his rules for the Gamer, as foes eliminated by you will drop belongings or resources from themselves, even when it is physically impossible. ]

FUCKKKK, this was AMAZING! I hunted an average of 40 Grimm a day, imagine the fucking drops that I would get! Especially paired with my Production class! Monsters would surely drop crafting materials, meaning new stuff to make!

Alright, enough cheering, now it's time to decide what path I'm going to take next. Class advancement time.

Potioneer can wait, in my opinion. With Production Mastery at Advanced, I had 8 more recipies to choose from now, so it can be left for now.

Alchemist is interesting, the thought of making an army of golems is really cool. It's resource-intensive though with golems needing raw materials, so I would need to have lots to grind the profession.

Blacksmith... Is just blacksmithing with extra add-ons. I'll get this last since I have the built-in list of techiques with Production Mastery.

Enchanter, I like cause even with Production Mastery at Advanced, I still can't do it normally. Besides, the God of Creation seriously made it clear that enchantments are OP as shit. Pocket-dimension? Sign me up.

Looking at the list of pros and cons, I decided to go with Enchanter, since it's locked to the advanced class. The rest I can already do.

After pressing "YES" to the question of if I wanted this class, information flowed into my brain about enchanting and its requirements.

DING~

... Huh. It's... I'll do it later, it would be much easier once I find civilization. I'd need physical books for these. And shit, another 10% chance! That's getting annoying real quick. Massaging my temples, I got up from my sitted position and stretched.

Alright, time to get going, civilization is my top priority now with the need of books and supplies from actual human beings being required for my enchanting.

Grabbing the Going Creation, I carried it over my shoulder with my high STR stat coupled with my buffs before jumping down from the cliff that was near the beach. Laying it gently on the ground, I tried to get into the pocket dimension.

With a pop-up that asked if I'd want to enter the pocket-dimension, I hit "YES" as my vision instantly shifted from the sea and sand to some kind of void-like space that surrounded me with a floating orb in the centre.

The place was huge, imagine it as the size of a flat. There was an invisible wall that I bumped into though, hurt like a bitch due to me reacting late. Making sure to mark the walls of the dimension when I had the resources, I exited the pocket-dimension using the floating orb in the middle, with a pop-up asking if I'd like to leave it.

Now out back in the real world, I started going back into the forest for food. Need to grab more fruits and clean water before going to sea.
