Into The Multiverse

His emotions were too suppressed. That was his first thought once he was in the clear, with the scent of battle washed away after a nice hot bath in a motel.
With water still dripping from his hair, he sat down on his bed and thought back.
After the whole Alecto situation, what did he do? Sane people would have ran away or even hyperventilate, but he just simply opened up his system’s menu like nobody’s business. That was not him coping, that was him feeling nothing after almost dying.
And who the hell walks into a barrage of bullet-like energies and takes the hits without any regard? Sure, some might say that it was his adrenaline speaking, but still it was ridiculous to even walk into that. He was lucky that his body miraculously healed once the skill[?????] activated, or else he would have died at that point from blood loss.
And back when he realized that he was transmigrated/reincarnated, he didn’t even feel nothing. His parents, his sister, his friends, all gone and he doesn’t feel any different. Hell, even while thinking about it, he doesn’t feel shit other than regretting that he couldn’t say bye to them.
His first guess was [GAMER’S MIND], but the skill’s effect was to only negate any incoming mental techniques, his emotions were of his own so the skill doesn’t activate.
The second guess was the [?????] skill, but he would never know until he unlocks it.
The final guess was his transmigration/reincarnation, maybe his emotions were tweaked when he was doing god knows what?
Eh, he’ll put this aside for now. It’s not like the answer’s gonna come right now. He should focus on the things that he can currently do.
“[GACHA].”
He opened the Gacha Page to only shudder in PTSD at the figure in the pop-up, greeting him with that disgusting smile.
[“Rejoice, young lamb. You have been selected to join the blessed beta function of the Multiversal System, the famed Gacha system. I am the Servant Grigori Rasputin, Class Alter Ego, the overseer of the function.”]
He cried in tears as his memories of playing FGO and getting shafted was still fresh in his mind, even though it was considered “useless memories” by him, god why did they not remove these memories.
And he swore that the fake priest’s smile widened at the sight of him tearing up.
“J-Just tell me what you do.”
[“The principle is simple. You may use Multi Credits to obtain items from across the multiverse, fiction and non-fiction, games to movies. The rarities of the items are from 1 Star to 5 Stars, with 1 Star being of the most common, to 5 Stars being of the most exquisite.”]
The priest points at the 1X and 10X buttons.
[“A single attempt is 10 Credits, while 10 attempts cost 100. The difference, however, is that if you perform 10 attempts at once, you will guarantee a 3 Star item and above. That is all.”]
“… Dare I ask if there’s a pity system?”
The Alter Ego laughs. Welp, fuck him sideways, no pity system. And counting his horrendous luck when it comes to gacha-based pulls… Yeah, he was screwed.
[“Ahem, moving on, there are “banners” that you can pull from. The [ITEMS] banner that will grant you objects such as medicine, weapons, clothing, etc. It does not contain living beings, unless said item is possessed or cursed with a spirit.”]
Rasputin showed him the banner. It was a complete rip-off, a 1:1 identical interface with the Summoning Page from F/GO.
[“Next, is the [CHARACTER] banner. This will grant you beings that are of the living from any multiverse. From a plant that shoots peas, to superhuman figures that hunt in the shadows. Deities, however, are locked until you reached a certain level of [INFLUENCE].”]
Influence? What’s that?
[“Lastly, [ENCHANTMENT] banners. These items will grant you means to upgrade or ascend yourself, any objects, or characters that you received from the Gacha. From materials to upgrade their abilities to evolving their states into stronger beings, I would recommend to use this as often.”]
Rasputin then waved his hand, as a pop-up appeared.
[“As a congratulations for unlocking the [GACHA] function for the first time, the [ADMINISTRATOR] has granted you a free 10X attempt on any banner, only for one time. Rejoice, for the gods above has gifted this rare opportunity to get stronger.”]
With his piece said, the figure disappeared. He stayed frozen for a few more seconds before cursing the gods for giving his this… guy for his overseer. Fucking Kotomine Kirei, hate that guy even if he’s super handsome, in a bro way.
Laying on the bed, Damien took a breather before praying to any god for their luck, and then pressing on the [ITEMS] banner for a single pull. And the screen transitioned to Mash Kyrielight’s shield on the ground, lighting up a pillar of white before a single ring of light surrounded the pillar.
A few seconds of animations later, the ring explodes into purple, revealing the item.

- Whole Set of Assassin Gear (Assassin’s Creed Unity) \4 STARS\

Opening his inventory, he pressed on the new addition as a set of clothing materialized onto his hands. Checking them out, he realized that they were his size as well, along with the classic Hidden Blade and its modification version, the Phantom Blade.
He got up and placed the robes onto his bed, admiring the craftmanship of the white robe-like cloak with a long hood meant for covering the whole face, black lining and accents all over the front and back, and some red at the ends of the robes.
Using [OBSERVE], he whistled in surprise.

The material was comfy and airy, making it a very compelling outfit to wear it everywhere you go. Not only that, the Concealment buffs are amazing to have.
Looking back at the Gacha Page screen, he tapped on the [CHARACTERS] banner and pulled. This time, instead of a white ring surrounding the pillar of light, it was a golden ring, and the explosion of light was blue instead.

[CHARACTER] GACHA RESULT
- Talia Al Ghul [SKILL] (DC Universe) \3 STARS\
===============
Another pop-up screen appeared, showing a page filled with Skills that varied, but most of them were espionage based. This were all skills that Talia Al Ghul acquired, though there were only 7 skills.
“[SEDUCTION] LVL 7 / 10, [BLACKMAIL] LVL 6 / 10, [FINANCE] LVL 8 / 10, oh there’s a [STEALTH]skill too at LVL 17 / 25, [PEAK PERFORMANCE] LVL 9 / 10, [HAND-TO-HAND (Counter] LVL 13 / 25, and lastly [MARKSMANSHIP (Handgun)] LVL 12 / 25.”
He opened his own Skill Page and did some thinking before grabbing the [HAND-TO-HAND (Counter)] skill at Level 13. Reason being? He needed some hand-to-hand skills in case his weapons were disarmed or lost.
He wasn’t taking [STEALTH] because he could max it out on his own, and he was getting a new skills that helps whenever he was out of Concealment. He doesn’t have a gun for [MARKSMANSHIP (Handgun)], and he doubts that the other skills are useful currently.
Still, he feels that the skill levels and the amount of them were quite low.
“Hey, Rasputin, is this a degraded version of Talia? Her skills and their levels are not what I’d expected.”
The Russian man donning the skin of the priest appeared with his usual smile.
“Ah, so you’ve caught on. Yes, the [CHARACTER]gacha banner is dependent on the rarity. The higher it is, the more rewards you will get, though 3 STAR characters only grant up to 7 selections when it comes to skills. 4 STARS have 10 to select from.”
“What about 5 STARS?”
“5 STAR characters are unique in a sense. The [CHARACTER]banner gacha is split into 3 categories. [EXPERIENCE], [SKILLS], and [TALENT]. But when you obtain a 5 STAR character, you are able to choose the following categories, with an extra category locked only for the rarity, you have the ability to summon the character into your plane of existence.”
Damien’s eyes widened at the thought, imagine Superman helping him like a bro? Or even Batman and his paranoia, or even Kratos going into battle with him? That would be awesome, gacha for life.
Saving the Multi Credits to splurge when the time comes, he was about to open the Dungeon Page when he suddenly got a notification. He opened the pop-up only to stare at it with confusion, his eyes wide open at the realization as his body shimmered and flashed, leaving nothing behind.
