CHAPTER 3

Summer Break Day 4

9:07 a.m.

"DIEEEEEE!"

*BOOOOOOOOMMMM!!!*

"Come on, Bakago, you could do better than that!"

"You —HUFF— fucking —HUFF— blind-rabbit bastard! Take THISSSSSS!"

*BO-BO-BO-BO-BOOOMMMMM!!!*

The nearby classmates just had deadpanned expressions at the cluster of explosions happening in the distance before continuing their training. They've gained a hint of muscle memory doing their daily training, so they could spare some time to watch their other friends train their intensive routines.

Like, Todoroki had to control the water around him inside the barrel that he was in, if it was too hot or too cold, then the water would electrocute him. If the flames and ice pillars didn't reach a certain height, he would get electrocuted.

Crazy stuff. The rest of the students were so glad that their Quirks weren't that powerful...

Though Gojo's training was insane too. He had to maintain that barrier of his for 3 to 4 hours straight from electric projectiles that were set up randomly and hidden by the staff, that shot at random intervals towards him at any time.

Not only that, the students who were training their combat skills had to face against him, usually it was Gojo against 4 to 5 people at once.

And adding to the plate was the fact that students were able to unleash their full power against Gojo's barrier, making it a good way to test their Quirk's limits or to get a good indicator of their control over their Quirks.

But still, the fact that Gojo was still standing after two hours of constant attacks was just incredible.

"5% Detroit — !"

*POW!*

The sound of a punch sounded as Gojo advised.

"Greeny, stop yelling out your attacks — "

*BOOOMMM!!!*

"— And Bakago, that one was weaker than usual~!"

And Gojo was back to his mocking self.

"SHUT THE FUCK UPPPPP!!!"

*BOOOOOOOMMM!!!*

"Nope!"

*BANG!*

"K-Kacchan!"

"U-Ugh! Just fucking DIE ALREADY!!!"

... A normal day in the class of 1-A.

Summer Break Day 4

5:07 p.m.

"Gojo, can you help with this?"

"Sorry, but I suck at cooking~."

Gojo replied to Ashido's request as he lazed on the ground with his arms behind his head.

"Ugh, what a lazy ass. If it weren't for that barrier of his..."

"To be fair, he is the heir of the Gojo clan. I doubt that he had never done "peasant" work before."

Jiro snarked at the heir to which Gojo just gave her a thumbs up, causing her eye to twitch in annoyance.

"But damn, I didn't expect your knife skills to be this good, Bakugo."

Ochako noted as Bakugo skillfully diced up a few carrots into perfect cubes.

"What the hell do you mean unexpected? You tellin' me you expected me to suck at this!?"

Kaminari who had just deported the vegetables noted.

"Huh, just when we hadn't seen him in a while... He shows up, Mr. All-Talented!"

Kirishima just sighed as he rolled his shoulders, wincing at the soreness.

"Everyone has too much energy..."

"Oi, what's with the washing department, I'm almost done!"

The explosive boy yelled and glared at the group of students who were washing the ingredients that they were going to use for curry.

"Hey, washing takes some time, alright? And my arms are tired from all that training..."

Sato retorted as he continued washing and scrubbing the dirt filled carrot on his hand, with Ojiro sighing before following his example.

Meanwhile, the girls were boiling water to cook the rice since the faculty staff only gave pots instead of rice cookers.

"Ugh, I'm sooooo tired."

"But I doubt you're more tired than them."

Asui remarked to Hagakure before pointing at Mineta who was unconscious on the ground. He fainted the moment training was over, and he hadn't woken up since.

Even Iida couldn't wake him up with that voice of his.

"Can you all help me with the pots?"

Yaoyorozu said aloud as she finished filling the pots with enough water for the rice, to which Shoji walked up and grabbed a pot with only himself.

"Oh, thank you Shoji."

"No problem."

"S-Sero, how much rice do we need?"

Koda asked with his usual shy voice, to which Sero hummed in thought before answering.

"No idea! Hey, Tokoyami, how much do we need?!"

The raven-headed boy raised his head up from the rice bags before noting.

"40 scoops worth."

"Alright, thanks!"

Midoriya, who was trying to light a fire for the boiling stations, was suddenly caught in a conversation with Todoroki who had a small pot on his hands for boiling.

"Hey, Midoriya. You asked Sensei about All Might earlier this morning, right? Did you want to talk to him or something?"

"Oh, um, yeah. I had a question about Kouta."

"Kouta? Who's that?"

Placing the additional firewood into the station after managing to light a spark, he looked behind him to point at Kouta.

"Erm, that boy..."

Only to find him gone.

"Ah, he's gone again..."

Sighing, Midoriya looked back to tend to the flame.

"That boy, he doesn't like hero— No, he doesn't like the idea of a superhero society with Quirks. I don't know what to say to him to help him out.

But All Might... He'd probably be able to find the word, you know?"

Placing the pot on the stove above the flame Midoriya lit, they remained in a comforting silence before Midoriya asked.

"Hey, Todoroki... What would you say about all this?"

"... It depends."

"W-Well, yeah! I expected you to say something like that..."

Midoriya just chuckled sheepishly at the straightforwardness of Todoroki when he continued.

"For complete strangers like us to dump our reasoning into his head... He'd just find it pretentious. And if, by chance, he were the type to be moved by words alone, then we'd know that his hatred only runs skin-deep.

I think the most important thing... Is to tell him "what we have done, and what we are doing now for humanity". I believe that with words... Come actions."

Midoriya stared at Todoroki who gazed at the evening sky.

"Fire-Ice is right, ye know?"

The sudden interruption to their conversation caused them both to look behind them.

Gojo was staring at the sky with an unusually serious look on his face.

"Take it from someone who had expectations dumped on him because of having a rare Quirk combination that haven't been seen in over 200 years. It sucks when complete strangers, even if they are related to blood, force their perception onto you, especially at a young age.

[Take over the clan this, bring pride to the clan there], a complete stranger especially can do little to convince a person. Let the kid find his place in the world, one step at a time. Our job instead of guiding him into the path that we want, is to help them when they ask for it."

Silence ensued between them before Gojo smirked.

"Well, I don't really care about this kid that you're talking about. We're here to enjoy, not be sappy and emotional."

And with that said, Gojo did a kickflip to get on his two feet with a mischievous grin, walking to the hectic workspace of the Bakugo Squad.

"Bakago, I'm hungry~"

"The fuck? Food's not even ready! Hell, even the fucking stock isn't done yet!"

"Woah, Bakugo, watch it! You're holding a knife!"

"Shut up, shitty-hair!"

And the number 1 classmate of theirs walked away, as if the conversation between them didn't even happen.

... Gojo was weird, and right at the same time.

"Gojo is correct, sticking your nose into a delicate matter is, well, you know... And no one would expect it, but you're the type to just break down barriers without thinking twice."

"Eh, really? Um... My bad?"

"YOU GUYS, I DON'T SEE YOUR HANDS MOVING! WE HAVE TO MAKE THE WORLD'S FINEST MEAT AND POTATO STEW AND BEAT 1-B!"

"Iida, your competitiveness is showing!"

"Gasp! I apologize deeply and regretfully for my attitude!"

Summer Break Day 5

11:49 p.m.

*WHOOSH*

"It's quite chilly for a summer night, huh?"

"It throbs... Pulses... Please let me out... I want to taste blood..."

"It's not time yet... Also, didn't the boss tell you not to overdo it?"

A group of figures watched the bright light of the Wild Wild Pussycat facility from afar.

"Yeah... But we're up against that monster, so it should be fine to overdo it."

The leader of the group mutters as they

"We've been here for over an hour already, I'm running out of juice. 7.2953 more minutes before the cloak disappears."

"... Fine. We'll add more tomorrow, I guess... Need more before we strike..."

And in a black mist, they disappear, leaving no trace.

Summer Break Day 5

11:49 p.m.

Something was wrong.

That line sounded in Gojo's head as he stared at a distance in the boy's dorm room, sitting up from his futon.

He frowns through his blindfold in said direction before sighing.

This feeling just doesn't go away. He should report this tomorrow.

... Well, since he was already awake, might as well train more. He could feel that he was close to his desired goal, just a little more.

But still, Something Was Wrong.
