It was just another bright, cheery day in the bustling metropolis of Rhan.
That was, of course, until a deep, guttural cry boomed through the streets with enough force to shatter windows, warp street lights and even send a few people flying back who were closest to the epicenter of it all.
"MATTY IS MINE! I WON'T LET ANYONE TAKE HIM AWAY FROM ME! ROARRRRRR!"
Traces of a sweet, feminine tone lingered in this booming voice if you listened closely enough, but the sheer aggression in the aggravated screech had warped it beyond any recognition. Especially now that the owner of said voice was beginning to morph into a most terrifying beast.
Because as it turns out...when you add fresh water to a being of pure slime, it adds to their mass considerably with seemingly no upper limit. And...a very upset slimegirl had just broken her way into the city's main reservoir. All in a quest to exact her revenge on a world that she believed to have stolen away the love of her life. A touch excessive, but, hey. Those are just the times we live in these days.
As a result, a sweet, bubbly slimegirl was now rapidly swelling in size as the water from the reservoir fuelled her transformation. Drinking it up like a sponge, her body welcomed the liquid to a greedy degree. Ten foot. Twenty. Thirty. The slimy, blue girl just kept growing with no end in sight. Soon, she was towering above even the largest of skyscrapers in this bustling city to the point her mega-sized, gelatinous form partially blotted out the sun to all those who gazed up at her--or at least now made it shine through a very goopy, blue lens now.
Every aspect of the slimegirl was enhanced to absurd proportions now. Mega tentacles thrashed about from her gigantic base, sweeping cars and buildings aside as if they were nothing. Her mega-sized bust jiggled in such a way that onlookers didn't know whether to be terrified or aroused at such an absurd sight. And her eyes... Those glimmering, purple hues of hers that could melt even the iciest of hearts...they now burned a violent red.
Throwing her head back and unleashing another ear-bleeding, glass-shattering screech, the giant, blue girl began her rampage. Yes. The great Jillyzilla was now descending upon Rhan. May the Goddess help us all.
--
"Oh dear... Things are getting quite rowdy out there, aren't they?" Sister June frowned as the ground quaked beneath her feet. Even from the isolated confines of her church on the outskirts of Rhan, the beast's rampage could be felt. And heard, of course, as every now and again the mega-sized slime still roared something about a 'Matty' or a 'betrayal' as yet another section of the city was levelled.
Thankfully, the church was out of the way enough that in all likelihood, it wasn't going to get caught up the destruction, but this was still something of a problem. For the secluded nun had planned to catch up with so many chores today. The laundry, the dusting, the mopping... It seemed like hardly a day could go by without another supernatural threat exploding out in Rhan.
Boom. Another quake. The sister could only blink at her buxom chest--bound tightly by her rib-crushing habit--jiggling along with the motion until things settled down again. Again, the nun made a conflicted face. She knew the more time she spent debating on the matter, the more of Rhan would be levelled. And they'd only just got done fixing things up from the last monster attack!
But... Surely, just this one time... Someone else could handle it, right? Maybe Rhan's army? They had modern weapons at their disposal!
...As if on cue, a series of explosions rang out again, now closer than ever. The telltale sound of helicopters and planes smashing to the ground before further erupting into yet more fiery booms. Sister June sighed again. Of course.
"Well... At least I managed to get the linen out to dry, at least... So that's something, right?" She smiled wryly and let out a laugh devoid of mirth. And once she remembered she was the only one in the church--and always was--she shook her head and promptly clapped her hands to her cheeks in an effort to psyche herself up what was to come.
For this nun wasn't just any ordinary nun. And this wasn't just simply referring to the fact that this buxom, blonde bombshell of a girl had a body that was seemingly hand-carved out by the Goddess herself, no.
Sister June was in fact, blessed in more ways than one by the Great Goddess in the Sky. Alongside her more typical, sisterly duties, she had also been blessed with a most special power--and an even greater duty that extended far beyond mere worship and dedication.
Well, you've seen the art at the top of this page, already, so the surprise was kind of spoiled. But act surprised at what's about to happen anyway. Please. A lot of hard work went into setting the scene here!
Clasping her hands together and bringing them up against the squishy heft of her magnificent, holy bosom, Sister June began to murmur something in prayer. Eyes fluttering shut, she blocked out the intermittent quakes that continued to rock the ground. She ignored the deafening explosions and cries.
"O', Goddess... I beseech thee... Please grant this humble servant of yours the power to protect those in need. Please--" Hands still firmly clasped up against her chest, she trailed off as she cracked one eye open and gazed up at the ceiling where she knew 'she' was listening. The nun heaved out a sigh. "Well... You know what I'm getting at, right? I don't think we have time for the whole speech right now. Can we just skip that part?"
...Silence from above. Sister June sighed again. Surely when so many lives were at stake right now, the Goddess wouldn't be as petty as to--...
"O-ow! Goddess!" The nun resisted the urge to hiss out a curse as a wand-shaped object unceremoniously materialised above her head with a sparkle and then proceeded to drop right down with a clonk against her skull before clattering to the floor. Rubbing the swelling bruise, the nun gave the ceiling a dirty look before directing her attention back to the rod. Usually it materialised in her HAND. Was the Goddess really this petty about proper procedures?!
Oh, well. At least she'd been able to skip a good part of the summoning speech. She would have been here for at least another five minutes if they did things the proper way. Scooping the summoned rod up, the marvelled at the beauty of its design--if only for a moment. She couldn't help it!
For what she held in her dainty grasp was a genuine holy artifact. Quite literally bestowed from the heavens up above, this magical rod emanated a tremendous amount of angelic power. Simply holding such a device filled someone with an indescribable amount of power--and gave the sense that they could accomplish anything just by wielding it.
It was also really, really cute. Which was a bonus, at least in Sister June's eyes. With the main part of the handle coloured a dazzling pink, connecting to an equally pink circular frame which in turn housed a crystalline star gilded in gold--and of course, adorned with the cutest little wings and bow you'd ever seen--it gave the impression it was a toy more than anything. But again...this object that Sister June cradled in her hands almost lazily was perhaps one of the most powerful weapons on the planet, far exceeding anything even the military could design despite their best attempts to emulate such a thing.
"Right... Well... I suppose I should get this part over with quickly, too..." the nun muttered as she clutched the rod against herself, letting the handle nestle in cozily between her moly mounds. It made for quite a suggestive sight, and she always felt stupid doing it...but apparently the Goddess insisted it be done this way. And she'd already earned a clonk on the head by questioning her once today, she didn't want to risk a second one. Bruises left by a Goddess' wrath just didn't seem to heal as quickly as normal ones!
"Angel Mode - Engage!" There was a flush to Sister June's cheeks as she uttered these words aloud. Again, this whole process was so silly. Why did it sound like something out of a trashy cartoon?! Had the Goddess been getting addicted to mortal entertainment again?
But in spite of the silliness to the words--this was exactly what the angelic rod wanted to hear as the crystal star affixed to the top of it began to glow a most brilliant blue. This light just kept getting brighter, and brighter still, until it eventually spread to the nun herself, enveloping her buxom body in the same brilliant glow. A pleasant warmth rushed through her in the process as she felt her restricting habit simply...disappear, with only the light to conceal her modesty now. She didn't want to admit it--especially as silly as the process to transform was--but there was a certain...euphoria to be found amid all this, and she couldn't help but let out a breathy gasp at her old outfit being stripped away as it was, with a fresh outfit blooming in its place. All the while, her feet gently rose from the ground as an unseen, angelic force stirred her hair.
A frilly pink skirt popped into existence around her wide hips. Something that could loosely be considered a top formed in around her jiggling chest, offering FAR more breathing room than the habit she'd worn a second ago. Pure, white gloves formed around her hands in a perfect fit, like a second skin. A headband adorned with a star. Hairclips reminiscent of angelic wings popped in on either side of her head and clasped her hair into adorable, curled twintails ill-suiting of a woman her age. And the accessories just kept phasing in from there in an overly long, grandiose transformation that felt as if it had gone on forever...until finally...the girl who had once resembled a nun drifted back onto her feet and the last of the glow escaped her in a series of sizzling motes.
No longer was she Sister June, servant of the Goddess. Now, she was a true warrior of the Goddess--Magical Girl June. But...that might be a bit of a mouthful considering the story isn't even halfway done yet, so we'll just call her June for short.
"...Is it just me... Or is the skirt getting shorter every time...?" June mused aloud as she tugged at her new, bright pink attire. It felt like her shapely legs were far more exposed than they used to be...and that wasn't even touching on the absurd amount of cleavage on display, too, that felt like they were but a single nudge away from escaping the flimsy excuse of a top she wore. Was it REALLY appropriate for a sister of the faith to be wearing this...? Granted, this WAS blessed to her from the heavens above directly...but she was beginning to wonder, sometimes...
Still, the power now flowing through her with both the rod in hand, AND the angelic attire now clad upon her buxom frame couldn't be denied. As revealing as it was, the clothes did afford some degree of protection, as well as enhancing a good number of her physical attributes, too. She also felt like her chest was ever so slightly larger, too, when she paraded it around in this gear...but that was neither here nor there.
Realising she was wasting time over trivial things, the magical girl gave a determined nod and was about to finally leave the church...when suddenly she felt the rod come to life in her grasp. It TUGGED her back with a good deal of force, as if forbidding her from leaving just yet.
June gave the angelic rod an incredulous look. It was a known fact that a piece of the Goddess herself was housed within this artifact--and essentially gave her a way of communicating with the magical girl when necessary, but...
"What? You want me to do the pose, too? But Goddess, people are DYING--..." The Goddess had no physical voice, and more communicated in ideas and gestures towards June, but she was SURE she could have heard a petulant huff come from the angelic device if she listened close enough. Several times did June attempt to leave the church anyway, but she was tugged right back in.
"Ohhh, fine...!"
Letting out a huff of her own, the magical girl straightened up, cleared her throat--and with cheeks burning even brighter than they were before--...
"In the name of the Goddess... I'll smite you, evil-doers~!"
She said with a voice sweet as sugar, a wink, the ever-important peace-sign, and of course leaning so far forwards only the most powerful of holy magics at play must have been at work to keep her enormous chest from escaping her top as they swayed vigorously.
…
She held the pose for a good few seconds as yet more explosions and panicked cries continued to sound from the city outside. Sweat beaded across her brow as she kept her sweet smile up.
"Is...is this good enough?"
…
The angelic rod glowed once. That was a yes. Maybe. Magical Girl June's sweet expression instantly crumpled into something far more determined and battle-worthy.
"Ohh! About time...! You drive me crazy sometimes, Goddess, I swear!"
With that last complaint uttered, June took off out of the church in a hurry.
And the moment she was outside, she didn't even take the time to think, instead, she focused a burst of angelic, magical energy into her feet and EXPLODED off of the ground and into the sky with all the force of a jetplane. Wind rushing past her hair and skirt billowing behind her, she cleared the sparse woodland below her that separated the church and the city in the blink of an eye. And when she finally arrived in Rhan...
"Oh, no..."
It was not in a good shape. At all. Half of the metropolis was in slimy ruins now. Buildings were but crumbling wrecks, coated in gigantic globs of blue. Smoke billowed from the streets that had been gouged out as if they were made of clay with yet more slime flowing through them like a viscous river. Cars, bodies and other such grisly debris lay strewn all over the place as people desperately fled or tried to help others in need whilst avoiding being washed away in the blue stuff. And from the scattered wrecks of what were once tanks, helicopters and other such military vehicles...they had fared just as well as imagined. It was completely and utter chaos.
Coming to a halt in the air to survey the carnage and hovering in place now, June shot the rod in her hand an exasperated look. "This is all your fault, you know! We could have gotten here MUCH sooner!"
The rod was unapologetic. As always. June simply shook her head and focused on the task at hand. For the one responsible for this mess was still actively rampaging, sweeping its gigantic tentacles across the streets and levelling yet more buildings in the process, whilst punching its slimy hands down for extra destruction, scattering yet more viscous blue around. If something wasn't done soon, the city was going to be more slime than...well...city! And that was a terrifying thought.
Floating closer towards the rampaging monster--a towering, gelatinous woman of blue with fiery red eyes--June cleared her throat and spoke with a voice amplified by the rod in her hand, almost as if it were a microphone.
"U-uhm... Miss Slime... I am afraid what you're doing isn't very nice--and I would to ask if you could stop, please, before anyone else gets hurt!"
...Turning to face the magical girl now, the giant, slimy being regarded her with fire in her eyes before swiping a tentacle the size of a skyscraper her way. June avoided it with a burst of magic propelling her down. Just barely. But from the violent rush of wind overhead, and yet another building falling to the slime's might, it was clear negotiating wasn't going to work here.
The angelic rod dully pulsed in June's hand as if to say 'well, duh' and the magical girl resisted the urge to hurl the thing away.
"Y-you never know until you try, okay? Not EVERYTHING has to be resolved with violence!" She couldn't believe she was having to explain this to a supposedly benevolent GODDESS of all things.
"Is that another...pretty girl? Are you trying to steal my Matty away, too?! I'll destroy you all! Groarrr!"
The slime roared, again seemingly hung up on whoever this 'Matty' was, those giant red eyes of hers now fixated completely on June with so much aggression the magical girl couldn't help but shiver from the pressure.
"S-such powerful affection she has... It's just a shame it's being focused like this..."
At the very least now, though, the slime was focused on her rather than rampaging more through the city. So that was something. Now June just had to follow-up on this and not get swatted away by one of the many present, wriggling tentacles that extended from the slime's base. Tentacles which were both VERY big. AND very fast. It almost didn't seem fair!
"Goddess, give me strength..." June muttered literally as she clutched the rod to her chest, letting its soothing light wash over her and calm her nerves. She accelerated into the sky again in a charge towards the slimy girl, weaving left and right and occasionally barrelling to avoid the storm of tentacles being thrust, whipped and swept her way. Each one was a close call--to the point she could feel the wetness of each appendage lightly brush her fair skin...but she managed to avoid getting hit by the brunt of them. Just about.
She wasn't exactly sure what her plan would be when she eventually reached the giant creature, either...but...in most cases, these fights had a way of working themselves out. While she wasn't naturally a violent person, a certain...instinct took over in the heat of the moment. Whether it was adrenaline, or more holy forces at work, she wasn't sure--but she wasn't going to argue with the results. Not when it let her accomplish so much. Not when with this power, she and she alone could defend the city she loved from the evils that seemed to spawn in it on a near daily basis.
And it was only as she got closer, and closer still, that she realised just how BIG the slimegirl really was now. And only seemed to be growing taller by the second with so many extra sources of liquid being fed into her slimy mass from stray fire hydrants, exposed pipes from the torn ground and other such sources of geysering water.
The magical girl had her work cut out for her. That much was apparent. But furrowing her brow in determination and tightening her grasp on a magical rod that she SOMETIMES had arguments with, she powered on regardless, eventually coming up face to giant face as she hovered before the slimy colossus.
Huge, burning red eyes narrowed even further at the sight of June and she raised a giant, slimy hand as if to swat her away like a fly. But June was quicker.
"Goddess...Beam!" she yelled, an unnatural echo to her voice as she thrust her angelic rod right at the slimegirl's nose. A concentration of pure, holy energy built at the tip of the rod within the crystal star, growing denser, and denser, until it burst forward in a thick beam of light that engulfed the slime's entire head. Slime splattered everywhere and the creature SCREECHED, but as the beam petered out and the dust and debris kicked up from the attack settled...June was met with the same red eyes as before. If not even angrier. The beam had barely put a dent in her giant, slimy head as it turned out. Having maybe shaved off a bit of her slimy 'hair', but beyond that, she was as fine as a giant, rampaging slime beast could be.
"Oh... That...that wasn't supposed to happen..." June said meekly as she glanced between the rod and her unharmed opponent. Who STILL had their hand up, ready to swat her. "I...don't suppose you'll let me try again, would you?"
June was answered by a giant, gelatinous palm crashing into her from the side.
In spite of the slime being made of very soft, goopy material, being hit by a giant hand of the stuff still hurt. Very much so. It was only thanks to the holy--incredibly skimpy--garments that June wore that she survived at all. Especially once the attack sent her flying right into the side of a building and a good number of office complexes inside said building along the way. Every wall she broke through slowed her down just a little more, her entire body glowing on impact to absorb the damage, until eventually she was able to gain enough control to throw the 'brakes' on and come to a hovering halt.
"...Ow," she finally said after recovering from the daze of being ploughed through too many walls to count. She shook the debris from her hair and patted herself down. As impressive as the damage absorbing was...it didn't make her invincible. And had its limits. So she was pretty rattled...but not outright hurt. At least not yet. There was no way the holy magic reserves would hold out across consecutive blows like that, though.
At the very least, she knew what she was dealing with now. And couldn't help but shake the rod in her grasp.
"You said slimes were weak to magic! All I did was give her a haircut!"
If inanimate magical rods could have shrugged, June was sure it would have done so right about now. But from what else June could gather from this strange 'conversation' she had in her head with the Goddess, apparently all known rules of slimes went out the window when said slime was taller than the tallest building. Which...okay. Fair. She couldn't argue there. Even if she really wanted to.
"S-so...now what?"
Before they could strategise some more, the abandoned office she found herself embedded in began to shake violently. The entire side of a wall came tearing off with a squelch, and once more did large, red eyes peer down at June through the newly torn hole in the building. Along with an ear-splitting screech that was on the verge of making blood come out of the poor magical girl's ears.
There was no further time to think. It was back into the action. The slimy, slimy action... June shuddered as she kicked up off of the ground just in time before the whole office came crumbling down around her. Thus far she'd managed to avoid TOO much of the slime getting her...beyond a few goopy flecks here and there that fizzled away thanks to her outfit's protective aura...but just like with the damage absorption, it was only going to keep it at bay for so long. And she did NOT want to have to scrub it out of her hair. She'd barely managed to rid herself of the filth she was covered in after her encounter with the last slobbery beast!
"If Goddess Beam doesn't work... Then how about... Goddess...Cluster Bombs!" Twirling into the open air once more and swiping her rod, a number of small, pulsing orbs were scattered out in an arc and hurtled in the slime's direction. In spite of their small size, once each one made contact with the monster's gelatinous mass, they detonated with a deafening boom across a series of chained, explosions of holy force.
Mopping yet more sweat from her brow--sadly unable to rid herself of the perspiration that seemed to be flooding her cleavage in sticky rivulets--June backed off to take in the effects of her attack. As she did, she cast the rod a sidelong glance with a frown.
"I'm sure we've discussed this before, Goddess...but don't you think some of these names are just a touch too violent for an angel such as myself?"
Another implied shrug. June shook her head. The 'holy' cluster bombs seemed to be a bit more effective than the beam at least, having exploded slimy chunks off all manner of key places on the slime's body, which in turn, had the slimegirl reeling back with tentacles flailing wildly.
"Okay! We just have to keep it up! She'll be reduced to nothing in no time if I use that again. Goddess--...!"
Just as quickly as she raised the wand to unless another series of cluster bombs did the star on it fizzle out. June brought it to her face in a panic, eyes wide, practically rattling the thing in her grasp. "What do you mean that move has a 'cooldown'? And on that note, what even IS a cool--"
...While she was arguing with her 'partner', the slime had apparently recovered. June was made aware of this when a very large tentacle swatted her away.
She didn't even have time to scream before a second tentacle followed up and batted her through the sky the opposite way. And then another. And another. Each brutal crack of a giant tendril resounding like a whip as she ping-ponged around.
At this point she was more at risk of getting dizzy and throwing up than sustaining any kind of serious damage thanks to her holy garments' ever handy protective aura...but...still...!
"Wahh-wahh-wahhh...!" she cried out, her eyes practically swirls now as she was bashed every whichway in a most undignified fashion. Until she finally remembered another handy move that she really should have brought out from the get-go. Especially when dealing with a being as...gloopy as the slimegirl.
"G-G-G-Goddess...B-B-Bubble!" she was able to croak out, and all at once the ping-ponging cease. She halted in the air. And the tentacles were driven away by an all encompassing 'bubble' of translucent, holy energy that repelled all that touched her. A giant drain on her energy reserves to be sure, but this was an energy.
As the tentacles continued to ping off ineffectively against the shield, with frustrated roaring ahead of her, June sagged. Partially from relief, and partially from mounting hopelessness in the face of what seemed like impossible odds.
"You know... When I agreed to be a warrior for you, my Goddess... You never mentioned I'd be having to battle things like THIS on a day-to-day basis!" She gestured exasperatedly towards the titan ahead of them. "In fact, it only feels like these things started showing up AFTER I became an angelic warrior!"
No sympathy to be found from the rod. Which was nothing new. But venting made the blonde-haired girl feel better. If only a little. And with hairline cracks now beginning to form in the bubble she'd entrenched herself in, she knew her second break was drawing to a close.
Exploding what remained of the holy bubble outwards in a display of magical might, June sent all of the tentacles flailing back in shock--and even severing a few--before she blasted towards the slimegirl's main body.
She wasn't even going to ATTEMPT the cluster bomb again. Because she still didn't know what a cooldown was. And it looked like the slime had reformed most of its missing mass, anyway. All these attacks were doing were chipping at a much larger problem. She had to find a way to take it all out in one single go. And while she herself was largely unaware of what made slimegirls tick...well...it seemed the rod--or the Goddess herself--had finally remembered something. Something that could end the fight at long last. But June didn't like the sound of it at all.
"Oh, no... Please not THAT... There has to be another way, surely?!" she pleaded with her Goddess as she hovered before the slime's main, jiggly body once more.
As it turned out, there was no other solution. At least as far as the Goddess was concerned. June, again, had to resist the urge to mutter a less than holy curse.
The plan was solid. And June couldn't fault it. But that didn't mean she had to like it.
"Forgive me, Ms. Slime..." June mouthed as she blasted forward with an even faster burst of speed than before. Right towards the slime. But not her face. Rather...the enormous, jiggling mounds that made up her chest.
The magical girl squeezed her eyes tight as she made contact with them. And at first, there was some initial, bouncy resistance that wanted to propel her right back. But with enough magic propelling her from behind, she was able to counter-act their jiggling force, and burrow right into the soft, abundant, slimy mass that seemed far more supple than the rest of her.
The slimegirl let out a violated noise as June dug into her chest, and made to clasp her hands around herself to get her out. But it was too late. June was now...in the colossal slime girl. And she was hating every second of it.
It was like she was swimming under water now. If water was far more viscous, goopy and sticky. She'd had to give up the protective aura just to power her flight enough to cut into the slime, so she now felt ALL of the blue, goopy stuff oozing in around her, coating her hair, skin and even getting into her mouth in a few occasions despite her best efforts to hold her breath.
This was a crazy idea. An insane one. The worst idea ever! All concocted by her beloved Goddess. Of which she was sure she could hear laughing at her right now, taking great joy in the lengths June was going to, to defeat this beast. All the showers in the world weren't going to get the blue stains out... She just knew it!
But the deeper she swam through the slimy beast, the closer she grew to it. Her main objective here. Pulsating like a heart within the slime, June followed its echoes deep within the slimy girl's mass.
Her core. Unlike the rest of her, it had remained the same size, so was but a small speck in a sea of slime. Quite literally. No matter how large she grew, a weak point was still a weak point, and the only point of her slimy being that still followed any known rules of her kind.
Cheeks puffed out and oxygen running rapidly low, June was red in the face now as she slowly wiggled her arm through the slime, fighting against its viscous, stretchy texture to get the rip of her angelic rod right to the core.
All at once, the slimegirl quivered, no doubt able to feel what June was doing within her being. Another roar sounded out and giant hands dug into the slime futilely, trying to pull June out as if she were a parasite. But it was far too late.
The magical girl had finally won.
"Goddess...Purity Beam!" June gargled out with a mouthful of slime, still somehow able to get the command out in spite of the situation. A bright, warm light engulfed the beating core.
And then the colossal slime exploded.
As the slimegirl detonated, June was thrown out of it with a tremendous amount of force, slamming right up against the side of one of the few buildings that was still upright. She let out a winded cry for air as slimy dripped oozed over every inch of her buxom body, including a few places she REALLY didn't want slime.
Not bothering to unembed herself from the wall just yet, she watched tentatively as the mega slime finished its eruption like a giant, slimy firework, its agonised screech still carrying in the air before finally going silent.
It began to rain down slime moments after.
"But of course..." June grimaced as she finally pushed out from the June-shaped hole in the wall and mopped the slime away from her features as best she could. But with how heavily it was raining, she got coated in the stuff within seconds all over again. "At least it's over now, but..."
Face scrunching pensively, she scanned the surrounding streets. The giant had been taken care of...but she just hoped...no she PRAYED...that the final attack she'd used had done as she'd intended.
Because as an angel of the Goddess, she wasn't JUST equipped with offensive spells. Even as much as the Goddess seemed to worryingly pride herself on with the increasingly violent names they had...
No--she also had a range of magic at her disposal that was designed to aid those in need. Or, in some cases, undo evils that befell a person.
Her 'purity beam' was one such thing. It wasn't meant to harm, but instead, purify someone back to their original self, so long as the original self wasn't an evil being.
And June's heart soared when she finally spotted them on a torn and slimy road.
Hovering down to ground level in a very shaky, unstable manner, the last of her angelic magic petering out, June landed with a squelch and approached the person that was now very normal sized. She forced a strained smile out as she clutched her rod nervously.
"...Ah, Ms. Slime... Are you alright? I do apologise for being so...forceful back there. But it seemed the only option at the time."
...The slimy girl on the floor twitched. And a pair of brilliant purple eyes fluttered open, no longer tainted with a jealous red.
"Nnn... Who...what...?" The blue girl's voice was weak. But there. Again, June felt another surge of relief. She helped the slime up to her...well...not her feet as she didn't have any, but helped up to something that resembled standing all the same.
"How are you feeling? Do you remember anything?" June asked as she stepped back after ensuring the slime was stable. She was having to also ignore a good deal of murderous messages the Goddess was instilling upon her about 'finishing the job'.
"My head is all...fuzzy...but... I remember...seeing Matty with--...and then..." Clutching a slimy hand to her forehead, the slime shook woozily before suddenly bolting upright. She glanced about the slimy, wrecked city in horror and shrunk back. "Oh, oh...no... Did I do this...? I got...I got so mad at the time...but I couldn't imagine..." Tears were quick to bubble up.
June frowned. "Ah... It was as I expected... You flew into a jealous rage. That red glow in your eyes...it was more than a simple outburst of emotions..." June didn't elaborate any further. But as far as she knew...monsterkind seemed predisposed to this sort of thing. It was a relatively new phenomenon as monsters and humans began to co-exist in this modern age, but it seemed when monsterkind went into a heightened state of emotional duress...some had the capability to...well...change. And just like the slime here...some would often level entire cities before finally calming down.
"I didn't mean to hurt anyone... I...I just wanted...Matty..." The slime's entire, jiggly body convulsed in a series of sobs. By this point, it seemed emergency services had gotten wind of the threat having been neutralised, and were now beginning the arduous task of putting out fires and cleaning up slime. So much slime. Which was STILL also raining from the skies in plentiful amounts.
The magical girl offered a sympathetic hand on the slime's shoulder. She couldn't be TOO soft here, given it was her fault after all, but she just wished she'd gotten here sooner. And just a little more of this destruction could have been stopped.
"What's happened has happened...and...at this point, this city has been flattened so many times I think they've gotten pretty good at rebuilding it quickly, ahuhu..." She flashed a smile and immediately regretted it as a glob of slime from overhead landed in her mouth. "Mnnff... But...all the same...if you truly regret this...then don't run from the consequences. Help in any way you can to atone for your crimes, and I'm sure the Goddess will forgive you. I'm just glad I was able to save you before things went too far."
...In fact, said Goddess was still chanting to murder the slime, but June smiled and brushed that aside. Once the Goddess calmed down and got the bloodlust out of her system, she was sure she'd feel the same way.
The slime sniffled before nodding, and latched a hand atop June's own sympathetic one. "R-right... I won't run away! I'll do my best...a-and apologise to everyone! Including Matty, when I find him... Thank you for helping me get out of that scary state, Miss, uhm...?"
"Call me June--faithful angelic warrior of the Goddess~"
"Right... Thank you, June. You can call me Jilly!"
"Very well, Jilly. I wish you all the best in your atonement, and pray you are able to keep your emotions under control. Lest we have...another slime day on her hands..." June shook Jilly's hand as she gazed up at the sky--the slime now finally clearing and giving way to the bright and sunny skies that were present just a few short hours again. The slimegirl joined June is gazing up at the dazzling display. For no matter how bleak and hopeless the situation seemed, there would always be light at the end of it, so long as one had enough faith.
"Now, uhm... Please excuse me, Ms. Jilly. I need to go have a bath."
Lacking the energy to fly now, the magical girl could only hobble away in a slimy daze as she exchanged one last farewell wave with the girl she HOPED wouldn't swell up to the size of a skyscraper again.
...She also hoped that the slime rain hadn't reached as far as the church. Because she had sheets out to dry!
--
After a hard day's work as both a sister of the faith, and an angelic warrior, June let out a content sigh as she sank into the depths of a very bubbly bath. She'd been able to scrub most of the slime out of her hair prior to this, so was content just to soak.
Flexing her shapely legs in the water and gathering the bubbles up just enough to conceal the heft of her sopping wet bust, she glanced up at the ceiling of the bathroom where she knew someone was still watching her. Most likely intensely, given the current scenario.
"Did I perform sufficiently today, my Goddess?" she pondered aloud, not really expecting an answer.
What she received mentally was equivalent to a reluctant thumbs up. Which June would take, given how hard it was to please such a fickle deity sometimes. She sank deeper into the water with a smile. Though...she still recalled the scolding she was given the entire way back to the church about not 'finishing the job'. June wasn't a murderer, after all. She just wanted to help people. Save them. Even monsters. For weren't they all the same under the Goddess' eyes?
...That apparently depended on the day, and said Goddess' mood. But she'd come around. Eventually.
As June found herself dozing off in the warm, relaxing water of the bath, content to cap off a hard day of work...one last thought drifted idly in her mind before her conscious finally winked out.
...Just who on earth was this 'Matty' person, anyway? Had he really been worth levelling a city over? She'd have to meet this person for herself one day and see.
