Giving up Soren won't save the party. As long as Rue is under the gang's thumb, the party works for the gang. Nemari's best play is to go back to her family and ditch the party. Now that she is rank 2 with some decent specialization (remember, common belief is that specialization is good), she should have no problem forming a new party.

It doesn't have to be a mega city. We don't know survival rates for climbers or any real idea on how many climbers there are. A city of a few thousand is enough to maintain population and genetic diversity while have just a few hundred climbers. Also, the area round the portal in Floor 0 was described as, not opulent, but not slums. It is only the vast majority of the outskirts that are slums.

This world build is missing some pieces or I am missing something. If floor 0 is the only floor with human civilization it should be a sprawling mega city filled with different factions, nations, cultures, etc. yet it was described a a nothing more than a slum. And not even a big one. That doesn’t make sense as the only source of human civilization.

Is it tho? He is not worried. And he kinda wants a party he can mold into something that can actually help him climb. It's much easier to do it to a low level party who knows how good he is. He did say he is willing to split if they don't agree, tho.

Yeah, it's a really annoying trope when the protagonist partners for life with the first group of hapless adventurers they work with. Given all the earlier talk of splitting up, I'm hoping Sorin goes solo for a while. He was already planning on leaving, so it wouldn't make sense for him to stay with the group now that things are falling apart.

He should just leave them behind. They were already planning on splitting up, he doesn't owe them anything, and this whole mess is more trouble than they're worth.

I get that Sorin is helping them out during each climb. But their attitude towards him is just so bad, they treat him poorly and he just takes it. he was attacked due to Rue’s issues. And yet the response from them was rather different than it was when they were attacked by the manticore. Rue was also responsible for the mishap in the ruin. Nemari is a bit hypocritical i think. If that’s the right word? Yeah. Think he should ditch these guys and find better people to climb with! TFTC!

Why would Sorin leave this up to a vote? He’s going to couple his life to the judgement of these people he met just weeks ago? He should go cut the ties of Raf and Eldart (confront them and then respond to the inevitable violence), then it’s done and dusted.

Well Nemari is going to leave, which leaves Rue and Odric...3 isn't a bad group. Question though, could you merge elements together to have an all round elemental manipulation ability?
