because they're all misfits who won't randomly kill each other. Sorin can't risk trying to find a better team right now, not when like, his mediocre team is this chaotic whilst having strong familial and friend bonds. Imagine how disloyal other groups would be if they don't even have family bonds!

2025-11-20 04:58:01 +0000 UTCI hate to drop because of an arc that’s should be about to end… but I’m dropping this story for the above reasons. Although I love the magic system, the world building, and the author seems to be an excellent writer, it’s just pretty hard to get past the fact that he is still with this team. What makes it a bit worse is that the story seems to be doubling down on this “flawed but human…” team and I wouldn’t be surprised if he sticks with them.

We’ve got a prideful noble team leader who’s nothing but demanding and a bitch, and truly only leads because Soren allows it, a healer who can’t fight, and a money hungry damage dealer that’s lied, betrayed the group, and led them into a ruin for greed. Why is he still with them?

2025-11-18 16:32:03 +0000 UTCThe word choice of his almost seems apologetic - "I know this might be hypocritical" - 1) he answered questions when it became relevant. 2) He had no reason to believe that the people he beat up would be looking for revenge in the tower, while Rue very much knew there was the danger from the Hellions. Even Nemari knew there was danger from them. So the hypocrisy seems to not be on his part.
