What he learned in the end could only have happened when he became his mother. Even then you could see his fear of life based on where the house was. Yes it was a beautiful setting, but for all that it was a prison it just happened to be a beautiful one. Maybe because I'm older the young man really pissed me off through most of this show he just didn't get it until the end that he had been a placeholder and those lives were to teach him fundamental things he missed in his selfishness. Anyway that's just me. I enjoyed watching with you. This show is one that could start debates when watched with others in real time. It gives a glimpse into how this aspect of mental health is viewed.

I think most kids take parents for granted when they're young. As they become an adult, and experience similar struggles and joys, they start to understand. I could have never understood the true unconditional love a parent can have before I had my kids. Now I get it.
That said, not all parents love their kids like that. Mine didn't, but I didn't know until I had kids and felt that love and knew I'd never do the same as them.
I don't know if we can ever really know someone. Being human is kinda lonely that way.
