tbh the joke was just him saying how young people wouldn’t normally wish to be old men but now they would bc that old man is in the same room as bts. it really wasn’t offensive but since these late night shows love the ratings army bring in they gon apologize no matter what

I dont think it was that bad. I hear same comments all the time. Yeah, he as public person should know better but thats TV humor for you. He seemed to be sorry and dont forget it was after they did sketch and even before when they were invited to the show they already talked about it. Its TV program so it was staged to some extend. But as RM i appreciate "apology".

New here, but I don't know why it took me so long! I loved RM going right to it! (Suga in the back ground saying "you are still Papa Mochi." You know they all have been in the hot seat with RM at some point, lol.) Thanks for catching Suga's moves! I feel like folks sleep on him. He actually B-Boyed until he wrecked his shoulder in 12. Love your reactions and happy to be joining from the DMV! (Also, yeah, the stadium thing is predatory--cheep land and investors with their eyes on peoples homes... it's happening in DC right now.)

I'm with you Seb. I didn't really see James' comments as a problem at the start because I knew it was an obvious joke ( a brave, stupid one but a joke nonetheless) but regardless he apologized, while practically shitting his pants lmao, and the boys themselves accepted it. Hopefully it can all be water under the bridge going forward.

Stadiums are built in low income areas for the bigger picture - gentrification. It’s also more affordable. I live in Jacksonville, FL. Home or the Jaguars (I know… no one has to say anything). Shad Khan invested in this beautiful stadium downtown in the smack middle of these low income communities, and the only person trying to “build a safer community” here is Shad Khan by proposing new upscale apartments and shopping centers and bars being built around the stadium. I just see him profiting off of what he started. There are good things to it too like Rachel mentioned above, but the last thing on the minds of the people behind these decisions are what’s going to happen to the residents that have lived in that area for generations.

The site SoFi was built on was formerly Hollywood Park which was a thoroughbred horse racetrack venue and has existed since the 1930's and torn down in 2014 to make way for SoFi. It's also right next to the Forum, which was the old home court for the Lakers and Clippers and the YouTube Theater. The Inglewood City Council unanimously voted to approve the plans for SoFi. There were 2 different sites competing to be approved by the NFL and Inglewood got it. So I wouldn't say that it was necessarily chosen because they could buy land cheaply since it was a poor area. Inglewood has a bad part of town and a good part of town and the large venues have been there for decades, way before parts of the neighborhood went into decline. There is gentrification going on surrounding the SoFi, though. But I'm sure people sold their land for a good price. Los Angeles real estate is not cheap by any means no matter what neighborhood you're in. The remaining residents and business owner's properties have also probably benefited in rising property value and business growth.

They build stadiums in poor neighborhoods because they can buy up the land cheaply. It's easier to buy out lower income people, they'll take less.
