Giant spiders again?

Travelers!

We start this month with an interesting location. This is a crypt repurposed as a laboratory, library, spellcasting school that belongs to a guy named Arthimesh. The other day, he messed up with his spells and malversed alchemy devices and the mishap caused some spiders in a container to grow out of proportions and become extremely dangerous. The spiders ate a few of the interns but Arthimesh and the rest of them escaped alive.

Now he's offering some gold for valiant warriors who dare go in and clean the place from the oversized spiders. On the other hand, this situation may bring light to some illegal activities that Arthimesh did a while ago, like the exhumation of some corpses from the graveyard and illicit experiments with poisons and dangerous substances. All in all, Arthimesh is not dumb. After hiring the adventurers, he hires a second group to wait for them at the entrance, in case the PCs steal something from his repository.

For our supporters on Patreon, this map is available in full resolution and several variants. The lore and adventure is included in PDF format as well as hundreds of other adventures as soon as you subscribe.

Giant spiders again?

Comments

good catch Raikao, the word "and" shouldn't be there. I'll try to correct this document as soon as possible.

Elven Tower

Something is missing for 8. South Foyer. It says "...There are and four giant wolf spiders in this room." Either the 'and' shouldn't be there or there's a monster missing.

Raikao

That's awesome to know William! I hope you all had fun. About the locked doors. I've never marked locked doors differently, nor have I seen maps by others do so. I'm wondering how to do this in the best way. How does an overly layer for DMs in roll20 sound? The overlay would have stuff like area number labels, Maybe notes for traps, and a note for those doors which are locked.

Elven Tower

I ran this adventure in roll20 last night and it worked great. Only recommendation is that it would be helpful if locked doors were marked differently on the map. Twice I let my players in a locked room only to have to back them out.
