A cautionary tale for overachieving drow....
Added 2019-06-14 21:55:00 +0000 UTCThis is the sad but well known tale of Jysdar, the ambitious drow mage. Jysdar was a prodigy magic user with great ambitions for his future. His power was such that his very existence would one day grow to content with the matriarchal hierarchy of drow society. Jysdar was an expert in necromancy. One day, he decided to try the grandest achievement of his life and tried to create and bind an undead black dragon. He procured the remains of an already dead specimen and brought them to a temple to start researching how to approach the challenge.
When the time came to attempt the ritual, reality fell on Jysdar like a brick. Lolth herself, the great matriarch of the drow made an appearance. She was disgusted by Jysdar for even considering topping her own magical achievements. She enacted her vengeance upon him and transformed poor Jysdar into a drider for eternity. This tale is still shared through oral tradition and serves as a cautionary tale for ambitious male drow.
