Great video! Another suggestion: the Penguin slipped through with quality because it was relatively low-stakes (B-tier villain from a movie three years ago). Penguin, Andor, and (haven't seen it yet but) Agatha All Along are all economy-class spinoffs that didn't need to be flagship shows or $1 billion blockbusters, so they were allowed to have actual visions without being over-produced to death.

2024-11-12 20:32:48 +0000 UTCAgreed, and I say this as someone who has a monthly subscription to my local Alamo Drafthouse. I can see as many movies as I want, once a day, but I've gone maybe three times this year. Not enough movies pique my interest.

2024-11-12 18:20:26 +0000 UTCExactly, going to the theaters to see movies always feels like such a special treat: but if the movie ends up being bad like The Borderlands Movie, it's going to be that much harder to go back to see another movie because of the commute, ticket prices, and any movie theater food like popcorn and drinks.

2024-11-12 17:39:06 +0000 UTCVery clever use of She-Hulk. There is one other factor in super hero fatigue: the pandemic. The Batman was really good, and made $770,000,000, and in 2022 no less. People need to be conditioned to return to theaters, and if a movie doesn't blow your socks off, why bother paying for a ticket? It'll be on streaming services soon enough.
